Job Description
Operational Excellence Consultant - Manufacturing Intelligence
Factbird
Role Description At Factbird, we help manufacturers understand what is really happening on the shop floor so they can improve performance, reduce losses, and make better decisions faster. Our platform turns live production data into practical operational insight — but technology only creates value when people on the floor trust it, use it, and act on it. This role is for someone who has already worked in manufacturing and knows what it means when a line underperforms, when downtime becomes normal, or when teams are measuring activity instead of outcomes. You might come from continuous improvement, operational excellence, plant operations, or manufacturing transformation. What matters most is that you can connect operational reality to measurable business value. You will work across Benelux with account executives, customer teams, and manufacturing stakeholders to assess opportunities, shape value cases, support trial success, and help customers adopt Factbird in a way that delivers visible operational impact. This role gives you the chance to take the operational-improvement experience you have built in manufacturing and apply it across a wider set of plants, teams, and challenges. Instead of improving one site at a time, you will help multiple manufacturers understand where performance is leaking, where value is hidden, and how better operational visibility can drive better decisions. It is a strong fit for someone who wants to stay close to manufacturing, stay close to real operational problems, and have broader influence without moving into a purely internal leadership or purely commercial role. Full-time, remote, based in the Netherlands, with travel across Benelux. Travel can be up to 75% during peak periods. Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, continuous improvement, operational excellence, operations consulting, or a closely related environment. - Strong understanding of OEE, downtime, throughput, quality, and operational KPIs. - Hands-on experience with Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, or similar improvement methods. - Ability to build and defend a practical business case for operational change. - Confidence working with operators, supervisors, CI leads, plant managers, and senior stakeholders. - Comfort with digital tools, dashboards, analytics, MES-adjacent systems, or industrial software. - Fluency in Dutch and English — written and spoken — is required. - Willingness to travel across Benelux. Requirements - Work directly with prospective and existing manufacturing customers to understand operational challenges on the shop floor. - Lead on-site and remote operational assessments focused on line performance, downtime, throughput, quality, and improvement potential. - Translate plant-level observations into a clear operational and financial value story. - Build practical business cases, including ROI, payback, and operational impact. - Partner with account executives to shape customer conversations and reduce deal risk through credible operational insight. - Support pilot and trial programs to help customers move from interest to adoption. - Coach customer teams on how to use Factbird in a way that creates real value, not just more reporting. - Build trusted relationships with stakeholders ranging from operators and CI leads to plant managers and senior decision-makers. - Act as the bridge between customer needs, operational reality, and internal commercial and customer teams. - Bring manufacturing best practices and operational-improvement thinking into how Factbird works with customers across the region. Benefits - Flexible working hours — we trust you to manage your time. - Competitive salary — compensation that reflects your skills, experience, and impact. - Internet reimbursement — stay connected wherever you choose to work from. - Thoughtful, human onboarding — step-by-step support from day one. - Individual Development Plan conversations — bi-yearly career development aligned to your ambitions. - Company-wide kickoffs & team days — we come together regularly across teams and regions. - A global, inclusive culture — diverse backgrounds and perspectives, actively celebrated. Company Description At Factbird, we believe that great work starts with people feeling respected, valued, and included. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to building a workplace where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. We celebrate diversity in all its forms and believe that different backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences make our teams stronger and our work better.
