This position is responsible for the overall accuracy of end-to-end lease & capital accounting and will establish and maintain processes across the current lease & capital accounting suite of objectives. This position will be a partner to internal customers such as Transaction Management, Lease Administration, Corporate Accounting & Policy, UHG Real Estate Delivery, etc. It is the responsibility of this position to ensure financial controls are in place, monitored and remediated when necessary. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week. Primary Responsibilities: - Own the development, maintenance, and delivery of periodic reporting on the overall health of lease accounting processes such as tenant improvement allowances, assessing reasonably assured term, identifying and recording impairments, lease classifications, and variable changes in rent - Provide governance and oversight of the CoStar lease accounting system, ensuring data integrity, proper controls, adherence to standardized processes, and compliance with accounting standards (ASC 842) - Review work performed by team members related to lease and capital accounting processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards and internal policies - Provide governance over capital accounting processes such as asset capitalization, cost categorization, and asset useful life - Advise on unique real estate transactions to determine accounting treatment and document the conclusions. Present conclusions to internal UHG customers.
