Chief Surveyor

DEME Group

• Manage and coach the survey team on board, you provide guidance and support • You drive continuous improvement in survey operations by optimizing productivity and efficiency • Maintain transparent and effective communication with key project stakeholders: Project Management, Client representatives, Vessel master and crew • You meticulously monitor the progress and the quality of the works by using survey equipment and software • Ensuring the timely production of survey deliverables, consistently meeting the highest quality standards • You are a key member of the vessel team with Captain, Chief Engineer & OIM to ensure the project success.

Job Requirements

  • A diploma related to hydrographic surveying, geophysics, geology, engineering or equivalent by experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the survey industry.
  • A strong and technical knowledge of survey operations, techniques, and software.
  • You have a good practical sense and ability to do the job in challenging and remote conditions.
  • Strong communication skills and able to take a critical view towards the works to be carried out.
  • Fluent in verbal and written English.
  • Knowledge of any other language is an asset.
  • Excellent attention to detail, quality and safety.
  • A natural ability to empower and motivate other team members, such as junior surveyors.
  • Willing to work on board of one of our vessel for extended periods of time (rotational schedule of 1:1 for offshore activities or 2:1 for dredging activities).
