Senior Analyst – Payroll

Novo Nordisk

• Operates as subject matter expert by providing technical and analytical support to the Payroll function for Novo Nordisk Inc. and other affiliates • Supports payroll preparation/processing and related responsibilities such as tax reporting, benefits-records administration, or payroll systems maintenance • Processes time records, compiles payroll metrics, calculates deductions such as Social Security, withholding taxes, and 401(k) contributions • Analyzes audits, reconciles and resolves complex payroll processing and employee payroll issues • Builds and maintains trusting, collaborative relationships and alliances with stakeholders • Develops and drives to completion plans for special projects and ongoing requirements • Processes/Pays for all employees of Novo Nordisk Inc. and its affiliates, ensuring timely processing of final payments for separated employees • Responsible for creating and maintaining payroll guidelines and written instructions for payroll policies and procedures

Job Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree required in accounting, business, or a related field
  • Requires a minimum of six years of progressively responsible experience in Payroll
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel required
  • PayrollOrg Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or PayrollOrg Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) strongly preferred
  • Advanced expertise in multi-state payroll processing, including interpretation and application of state-specific tax laws and regulatory requirements
  • Working knowledge of Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) as well as Federal, State and Local tax laws
  • Must be able to facilitate management and employee understanding of payroll procedures
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must maintain current on Payroll systems to achieve alignment with HR, Benefits and other related areas
