Tax Manager
OnPoint Group, LLC
• The Tax Manager (indirect & direct tax) is responsible for all aspects of the Company’s tax function, including Sales & Use Tax, Personal Property tax, and Income Tax across multiple jurisdictions. • This role supports all OnPoint Group companies nationwide and reports to the Corporate Controller. • The Tax Manager will oversee compliance, planning, audit management, and system integration for both indirect and direct taxes. • This includes partnering with finance, accounting, payroll, and business unit leaders to advise on tax matters, optimize tax positions, and mitigate risk. • In a private equity-sponsored environment, this role will also support transaction readiness, tax related due diligence and integration of acquisitions, and enhanced reporting requirements to executive leadership and investors. • Lead and develop the Tax team, ensuring accurate and timely deliverables across all tax disciplines. • Establish scalable processes and controls to support growth and acquisition activity. • Partner with executive leadership on tax strategy, reporting, and risk management. • Manage multi-jurisdictional monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax filings. • Review indirect tax accruals, reconciliations, and taxability determinations. • Oversee exemption certificate management and nexus compliance. • Coordinate activities with business unit financial leadership and team. • Manage all aspects of personal property tax compliance, including filings, renditions, and assessments across jurisdictions. • Coordinate the outsourcing and preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax filings, working with external advisors as needed. • Lead all tax audits (sales tax, property tax, and income tax) and manage relationships with tax authorities and external advisors. • Evaluate and enhance ERP and tax systems to ensure accurate reporting and compliance. • Support due diligence and tax structuring for acquisitions and divestitures.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
- Must have tax experience, minimum 10 years.
- Strong Sales & Use Tax background
- Experience with Personal Property Tax and Income Tax
- Experience in a multi-entity, multi-state environment (private equity or high-growth preferred).
- Experience managing external tax advisors and audits.
- Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
- The selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check and drug screen.

Role Description A sua missão: - Analisar apurações a fim de garantir ao cliente segurança fiscal, oferecendo suporte a equipe e assegurar a credibilidade da organização perante o cliente. • Manage transaction tax engagements end-to-end, working closely with the Practice Leader and cross-functional teams (R&D, cost segregation, transfer pricing). • Lead transaction cost analyses under Section 263(a)/INDOPCO, including succes-based fee analysis and the Rev. Proc. 2011-29 safe harbor election, with supporting documentation studies. • Perform Section 382/383 ownership change analyses and limitation calculations, including NUBIG/NUBIL determinations and Section 338 approach modeling. • Support buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence: exposure identification, attribute analysis (NOLs, credits, E&P), and structuring considerations (stock vs. asset, Section 338(h)(10)/336(e) elections). • Own project execution: status updates, timelines, technical issue-spotting, and deliverable management. • Collect, format, and analyze large datasets to build complex calculation models and support tax positions. • Draft and/or review technical memoranda (opinion letters, IRS responses, ruling requests) and support audit readiness, including UTP/FIN 48 reserve considerations. • Mentor, train, and supervise junior team members; ensure consistent quality and best practices.
