Lead Systems Engineer

Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated

• Leads team and independently supports the global design, implementation, and maintenance of virtualization infrastructure • Provides guidance and expertise to management and users on topics surrounding strategy and best practices • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience • Solves complex problems and takes a new perspective on existing solutions • Coordinates the design, develop, and maintain the physical infrastructure, network, and layout of a data center • Implements standards and guidelines • Ensures adequate capacity for corporate computing needs and identify capacity trends • Coordinates or leads reliability testing and plan disaster recovery procedures • Provides regular status, operational, incident, and change reports

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) or equivalent experience - Required
  • 8+ years experience managing data center resources and managing virtual hosting platforms - Required
  • Advanced experience working with Unix, Linux, Windows, and container based systems - Required
  • Advanced ability to automate and maintain automation for core job functions - Required
  • Advanced understanding of data center layout planning, networking, and life cycle management - Required
  • Advanced experience installing, configuring, and automating multiple operating systems - Required
  • Advanced knowledge of trends in DevOps, micro-services, and automation orchestration - Required
  • Advanced skills in customer relationship management and change management - Required
