Job Description
Staff Data Analyst
Assured
• You'll partner with teams across the organization to transform data into meaningful insights that drive smarter decisions. • You'll help leaders understand business performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and measure the impact of strategic initiatives. • The best analysts don't just report what happened – they help teams understand why it happened and what to do next. • Design and analyze experiments, pilots, and performance evaluations that separate signal from noise and support confident decision-making. • Build dashboards and reporting that provide leaders with visibility into operational performance, customer outcomes, and organizational health. • Analyze data across multiple sources to identify patterns, emerging opportunities, risks, and areas for improvement. • Use segmentation, cohort analysis, and behavioral data to understand customers, users, or operational processes and identify opportunities to improve results. • Partner with stakeholders across departments to answer high-impact business questions, evaluate tradeoffs, and provide analytical recommendations. • Improve data quality, instrumentation, and reporting by identifying gaps in existing data collection and helping teams capture the information needed to make informed decisions. • Build confidence in business decisions by designing analyses and communicating insights that help teams understand what is working – and what isn't. • Turn data into strategic direction by uncovering trends, identifying opportunities, and providing actionable recommendations. • Create visibility into organizational performance through dashboards, reporting, and metrics that stakeholders rely on every day. • Partner with cross-functional teams to frame business problems, evaluate options, and ensure decisions are supported by data. • Develop meaningful metrics and reporting frameworks that enable teams to consistently measure success and track progress over time. • Identify opportunities to improve business processes, customer experiences, and operational efficiency through thoughtful analysis. • Bring clarity to complex problems by asking the right questions, exploring the data, and delivering insights that move the business forward.
Job Requirements
- Use data to drive decisions. You have a track record of solving complex business problems through thoughtful analysis and influencing decisions with data.
- Have strong analytical fundamentals. SQL is a core part of your toolkit, and you're comfortable working with large datasets to uncover meaningful insights.
- Think beyond reporting. You don't just build dashboards – you investigate root causes, identify opportunities, and recommend actions.
- Communicate with clarity. You can explain analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences and help stakeholders make informed decisions.
- Enjoy solving ambiguous problems. You're comfortable starting with a business question—not a predefined report—and determining what data, analyses, or metrics are needed to answer it.
- Adapt quickly to new tools and technologies. You enjoy learning new platforms and approaches and focus on solving problems rather than relying on a specific technology stack.
- Bring experience with modern analytics tools. Experience with SQL, Python, R, Tableau, Power BI, Looker, AWS, Snowflake, Databricks, or similar analytics platforms is a plus, but not required. Great analysts learn new tools. Great critical thinking is harder to teach.
