Senior Business Intelligence Specialist

• Deliver against business intelligence objectives including creating solutions for information delivery and data analytics projects • Independently analyzing, designing, and developing business intelligence and analytics solutions • Mentoring junior staff by providing guidance and design consultation • Analyzing, designing and building reports, dashboards or other business intelligence components • Responsible for development initiatives that may drive the creation of new data assets or information exchange • Work closely with other staff to identify levels of effort and task dependencies • Provide technical guidance on the creation of database tables, objects, assets and/or cubes • Lead the creation of data marts as needed • Train and mentor business intelligence and analytics staff on use of new technologies • Collaborate with other developers on the application of standards and best practices • Oversee and/or participate in the research and evaluation of new business intelligence, analytics and/or data visualization technologies

Job Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in business intelligence working with business or systems analysis and design concepts
  • A bachelor’s degree in business intelligence, management information systems, mathematics, statistics, analytics, computer and information sciences or similar is required
  • May substitute an additional three or more years of direct experience in business intelligence, data analytics or statistics in lieu of a bachelor’s degree
  • Ability to write basic queries using standard query languages
  • Familiarity with both business analysis principles and project management methodologies
  • The ability to quickly learn and apply new technologies while considering the business needs and direction
  • Familiarity with Business Intelligence tools/environments with ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Working knowledge of data warehousing and business intelligence concepts, including various forms of data modeling (dimensional and relational) and warehousing strategies
  • Demonstrable proficiency in overseeing the definition or project scope and in managing small to midsize projects to completion on the delivery of the defined scope.
