Role Description The Construction EHS Manager owns the EHS construction oversight program for a defined area while directly managing the team of contract construction EHS technicians who provide daily boots-on-the-ground coverage across active sites. You are accountable both for the strategy and for the execution. - Accountable for pre-qualifying vendors, setting EHS expectations, holding contractors to agreement requirements, and mitigating risk across concurrent projects. - Ensure techs are physically present on site every day, walking the work, catching hazards in real time, and enforcing the program. This is a remote role with regular travel to active construction sites. The ideal candidate is agile, strategic, and hands-on. - Trustworthy with confidential information. - Highly organized and self-motivated. - Excellent communication and facilitation skills. - Drive a safety-first culture where every worker onsite is empowered to identify and mitigate risks. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 5+ years of experience in program or project management. - 5+ years of experience in the construction, industrial, or process industry. - Experience directly supervising or leading field EHS staff or safety technicians. Requirements - Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other applicable EHS certifications (CIH, CHST, OHST, or similar). - 10+ years of experience in EHS construction and subcontractor management. - Experience working in operational data centers with a focus on safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. - Demonstrated experience managing a distributed team of field safety technicians across multiple sites. - Knowledge of safety program design and implementation. - Understanding of construction program management, including basic construction agreements. - Proven experience managing contractor safety and environmental compliance on multi-million dollar capital projects. - Familiarity with ISO 14001 or ISO 45001. - Excellent problem-solving, communication, and facilitation skills; deadline-driven and detail-oriented.
