Role Description We are hiring a Senior Mobile Engineer to own and evolve the Grove patient-facing mobile application. The app is currently in active development and your immediate job is to absorb the existing codebase, establish architecture standards, and take ownership of the mobile layer as a domain authority. This is a cross-platform role. We are building for iOS and Android from a shared codebase. The candidate must be fluent in React Native or Flutter and comfortable operating as the sole internal mobile authority in close collaboration with an offshore development team. What You Will Own - Grove patient mobile app — architecture, codebase standards, and ongoing feature development across iOS and Android - Onboarding and intake flows — patient registration, identity verification, consent management, and Cognito-based authentication - Clinical UX surfaces — symptom intake, medication status, refill requests, care plan display, and AI agent interaction surfaces - FHIR R4 data consumption — rendering patient records, care timelines, and clinical summaries from AWS HealthLake via the Grove API layer - Push notifications, deep linking, and offline-tolerant state management for a patient population with variable connectivity - Canvas Medical patient portal integration — rendering clinical data surfaced via Canvas APIs within the mobile experience - App Store and Google Play deployment pipeline — CI/CD, release management, versioning strategy - Technical handoff and standards-setting with the KMS Technology mobile team — code review, architecture review, PR standards Qualifications - 4+ years of production mobile engineering experience with React Native or Flutter — shipped apps, not prototypes - Strong cross-platform discipline — understands the tradeoffs between shared code and platform-native behavior, and knows when to break the abstraction - Experience consuming REST and FHIR APIs from mobile — pagination, error handling, token refresh, offline caching - AWS Cognito or equivalent identity/auth integration in a mobile context — token management, MFA, session handling - HIPAA-aware mobile development — secure local storage, PHI handling constraints, screenshot/clipboard controls - App Store and Google Play deployment experience — provisioning profiles, signing, phased rollouts, rejection handling - Experience working with an offshore or distributed engineering team — asynchronous collaboration, PR review, design documentation Preferred Qualifications - Prior experience building telehealth, healthcare, or patient-facing clinical apps - Familiarity with FHIR R4 data structures — Patient, Observation, MedicationRequest, CarePlan resources - Experience integrating LLM or AI agent response surfaces into a mobile UI (chat, structured guidance, goal tracking) - Expo or bare React Native workflow experience; Fastlane or equivalent CI/CD for mobile - Comfort reading and reviewing TypeScript/Node.js backend code to coordinate API contracts with the backend team - Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) for patient-facing healthcare apps Benefits - Health care insurance (medical, dental, vision) - Life Insurance - Supplemental Insurance - PTO - 401K matching - Sick leave - Phone/internet reimbursement - Remote work

• Design, develop, and implement new functionality for decoupled backend services • Maintain, enhance, and refactor existing backend applications to improve scalability, reliability, and maintainability • Analyze and optimize application performance, database queries, and overall system efficiency • Take ownership of backend services throughout their lifecycle, including architecture, deployment, production support, monitoring, and continuous improvement • Participate actively in technical design discussions, solution architecture, and project planning sessions • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions • Review code, provide constructive feedback, and champion engineering best practices through peer collaboration • Mentor and support other team members by sharing technical expertise and assisting with complex engineering challenges • Troubleshoot production issues using profiling, monitoring, logging, and diagnostic tools • Produce and maintain clear technical documentation, architectural diagrams, and design specifications • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to the engineering stack where appropriate • Effectively utilize AI-powered development tools (such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Codex) to accelerate software development while ensuring code quality, correctness, security, and maintainability.

• Improve Deepgram’s core inference services including areas in networking, speech processing, audio transcoding, and latency and memory optimization • Develop processes for measuring, building, and optimizing services to maximize system performance • Debug complex system issues that include networking, scheduling, and high performance computing interactions • Rapidly customize backend services to support our customer needs • Partner with Product to design and implement new services, features, and/or products end to end

• Lead the technical design and hands-on implementation of core backend APIs and services, primarily in Python and FastAPI • Set architectural direction for domain models, relational schemas, service boundaries, data consistency, and API contracts • Translate product priorities into well-scoped delivery plans, milestones, and technical decisions • Personally lead critical-path development, code reviews, release planning, and incident response • Set and maintain high standards for testing, CI/CD, observability, security, performance, and production reliability • Build reliable integrations across geospatial, media, reporting, asset management, and third-party vendor systems • Develop and maintain ETL and data migration processes for imagery, geospatial, and operational data • Directly manage 3 to 4 senior backend engineers through regular one-on-ones, feedback, performance management, and career development, while overseeing nearshore engineers or consultants as needed • Delegate work effectively, remove delivery blockers, and ensure the team ships high-quality backend systems predictably • Partner with product, frontend, data, operations, and QA teams to prioritize tradeoffs and deliver customer value • Hire, onboard, mentor, and develop strong backend engineers.
