Role Description Coalition Technologies is seeking a senior-level Remote Solutions Architect to help define, plan, scope, and execute web design and development projects. This role is ideal for someone with strong solutions engineering experience, senior development knowledge, eCommerce and CMS platform expertise, and the ability to communicate technical recommendations clearly to clients, prospects, sales teams, project managers, designers, and developers. As a Solutions Architect, you will work closely with our sales and strategy teams, project managers, designers, and developers to support technical discovery, project scoping, platform recommendations, pre-sales consulting, and high-complexity development needs. You may also support front-end or back-end development work on higher-value or more complex projects. This role reports directly to the Director of Design and Development and the President. Responsibilities - Educating prospects on platform solutions such as BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento, WordPress, and other eCommerce or CMS platforms - Providing consultative, best-practices recommendations based on business goals, technical requirements, analytics, and client needs - Conducting needs analysis and technical scoping sessions with prospective customers - Gathering, documenting, and organizing key project requirements - Providing pre-sales technical consulting to the Sales team through online demonstrations, conference calls, and site visits with project managers - Documenting prospective client needs, technical requirements, and project scope details - Acting as a trusted advisor and technical voice for the sales and marketing teams when communicating with prospects and partners - Working closely with the sales team to respond to proposals and RFPs - Ensuring technical recommendations and proposal details address client requirements clearly and accurately - Working with third-party partners or solutions when custom solutions are needed to meet prospect needs - Helping create thought leadership content, white papers, and sales or marketing collateral that highlights Coalition Technologies' agency capabilities - Developing new processes and best practices to help internal teams operate as industry leaders - Staying current with the latest features, capabilities, and applications released by major platforms - Leading internal project planning and developing recurring solutions for frequent client needs - Supporting design and project management team members during project discovery - Helping ensure UX best practices and future project phases are considered during scoping - Providing emergency development support for key Coalition Technologies clients and major accounts Qualifications - 4 to 5+ years of solutions engineering experience in a relevant market or a similar senior-level development role - Strong knowledge of web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP - Experience with eCommerce and CMS platforms such as BigCommerce, Shopify, Magento, and WordPress - Experience with solution architecture, project scoping, and product demonstrations - Ability to provide consultative presentations to C-level business executives - Ability to hold detailed, in-depth technical discussions with technical audiences - Experience with commerce solutions and applications, including POS systems, product catalogs, order management, ERP systems, and payment gateways - Strong verbal, presentation, written, and organizational skills - Ability to collaborate with and motivate multiple groups toward completing shared goals - Charismatic, energetic, self-starting personality - Passion for winning, problem-solving, and delivering strong client solutions Preferred Skills - Sales methodology or solution selling training - Experience supporting pre-sales consulting for web design, web development, eCommerce, or digital agency services - Experience responding to RFPs or technical proposals - Experience creating technical documentation, white papers, or thought leadership content - Experience with high-complexity front-end or back-end development projects - Experience working with third-party integrations, APIs, ERP systems, payment gateways, or custom commerce solutions Benefits - 100% remote work with a company that has supported remote team members for more than a decade - Competitive profit-sharing bonus plan, with up to 50% of company profits paid to full-time employees each month - Competitive Paid Time Off plan that supports work-life balance - Subsidized gym memberships - Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance packages for eligible US-based team members - International Health Insurance Reimbursement Program for eligible international team members - Device upgrade and learning reimbursement programs - Career development plans with clearly defined goals and rewards - Additional job-specific incentives and bonuses Remote Work Environment Coalition Technologies is a fully remote company. Compensation For candidates located in California, New York, Washington, and Colorado, the starting base pay for this position ranges from $22.50 to $35 per hour. Compensation may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills test performance, geographic location, and seniority of the position offered. For candidates outside of California, New York, Washington, and Colorado, compensation may fall outside the listed range.
