Role Description The Global Commodities Manager for Mechanical Components will play a pivotal role in driving strategic sourcing and procurement initiatives supporting the production of DC fast charging systems for the electric vehicle industry. Based in Lebanon, Tennessee, this permanent full-time position is essential for optimizing our supply chain and ensuring the availability of high-quality mechanical components. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing global sourcing strategies for mechanical components including: - Metal fabrications - Enclosures - Machined parts - Stamped components - Plastics - Related assemblies They will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance supplier relationships and contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of our global operations. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field. - A minimum of 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management within a manufacturing environment. - Experience sourcing mechanical components such as sheet metal fabrications, metal enclosures, machined parts, stamped components, plastics, or structured assemblies. - Strong negotiation and contract management skills. - Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and procurement tools. - Proficient in data analysis and market research methodologies. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Experience collaborating with suppliers and teams across North America, EMEA, and APAC. - Familiarity with fabrication processes including CNC machining, metal stamping, welding, powder coating, die casting, and injection molding. - Approximately 20% travel, including domestic and international supplier visits. Requirements - Develop and implement category strategies for mechanical components to achieve cost savings and quality improvements. - Conduct market analysis to identify trends and opportunities within the mechanical components sector. - Manage supplier relationships, negotiating contracts and ensuring compliance with company standards. - Lead supplier selection, RFQs, negotiations, contract management, and sourcing decisions for both new product introduction (NPI) and production programs. - Collaborate with engineering and production teams to understand requirements and align sourcing strategies. - Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as necessary. - Prepare and present reports on category performance and sourcing initiatives to senior management. - Lead cross-functional projects aimed at improving procurement processes and reducing lead times.
