Duties & Responsibilities - Design, develop and launch bespoke WordPress websites using custom themes. - Build responsive, accessible and high-performing websites that follow modern web standards. - Maintain, update and enhance existing client websites. - Work closely with designers, project managers and digital marketing specialists to deliver client solutions. - Optimise websites for performance, SEO and Core Web Vitals. - Integrate websites with third-party APIs and external platforms where required. - Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve technical issues across multiple websites. - Ensure websites are secure, scalable and easy to maintain. - Contribute to code reviews and maintain high coding standards. - Research and evaluate new technologies, tools and development approaches. Qualifications - 2+ years' experience developing complete, bespoke WordPress websites. - Excellent knowledge of PHP, HTML5, CSS3 and modern JavaScript. - Experience building custom WordPress themes without reliance on page builders. - Solid understanding of WordPress architecture, hooks, templates and custom post types. - Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and custom Gutenberg development. - Strong understanding of responsive design and mobile-first development. - Knowledge of website performance optimisation and Core Web Vitals. - Familiarity with Git version control and collaborative development workflows. - Experience integrating third-party APIs and external services. - Understanding of technical SEO best practices. - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. - Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise effectively. - Excellent communication skills. - Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
