Role Description Mi Familia seeks an experienced, collaborative, and strategic leader to serve as National Data Director. The National Data Director will lead the organization’s data operations, systems, reporting, targeting, and data infrastructure in support of year-round civic engagement, advocacy, organizing, and electoral programs across multiple states. This role requires a strong understanding of campaign and organizing environments, experience supporting data-driven decision-making during fast-paced electoral work, and the ability to lead cross-functional coordination across departments, state teams, vendors, and organizational stakeholders. The National Data Director will report to the Chief Operating Officer. This role will work closely with departments and state teams to collect, organize, protect, analyze, and operationalize data assets while supporting data-driven decision-making across the organization. The National Data Director will help strengthen campaign execution, improve and streamline organizational data systems, support voter engagement and reporting efforts, strengthen analytical capacity, and promote consistent data practices across departments and states. The National Data Director will partner closely with Campaigns & Programs, Communications, Development, Operations, and state teams to ensure staff and leadership have the tools, systems, reporting, targeting, and operational support needed to effectively execute civic engagement, advocacy, organizing, and electoral programs. The successful candidate will have experience in data management, campaign or nonprofit data systems, analytics, reporting, and cross-functional project coordination. Strong preference will be given to candidates with experience supporting civic engagement, advocacy, organizing, or electoral work, including experience working through at least one full election cycle in a leadership or senior coordination role. Qualifications - At least 8 years of relevant professional experience, including experience in data, systems, analytics, or campaign operations. - Experience in the campaign, advocacy, organizing, or movement space, including participation in at least one full election cycle in a leadership or senior coordination role. - Understanding of the electoral, organizing, or movement landscape, preferably with multiple election cycles of experience. - Strong technical background, including experience with databases, CRM systems, reporting tools, data integration, and campaign technologies. - Familiarity with tools such as VAN/EveryAction, Asana, predictive dialers, and reporting/dashboard systems. - Experience with data management practices, including data quality, reporting, governance, and operational workflows. - Hands-on experience analyzing and interpreting complex data sets to derive actionable insights. - Ability to communicate data clearly and effectively to staff and stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization. - Strong collaboration skills and ability to work cross-functionally across departments and state teams. - Experience conducting trainings and supporting organizational adoption of systems and tools. - Project management experience, including coordination with external technology vendors and multiple stakeholders. - Knowledge of common direct voter contact applications and cloud-based data systems. - Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Facilitate team coordination, and project accountability processes related to data operations, reporting, systems management, training, and organizational adoption efforts. - Support cross-functional collaboration and communication across departments, state teams, vendors, and external partners to help ensure effective implementation, operational alignment, and information sharing. - Manage and help prioritize multiple concurrent projects, systems implementations, operational needs, and organizational requests in a fast-paced and evolving environment. - Provide leadership and coordination across organizational initiatives, helping align systems, reporting, operational workflows, and data priorities with organizational goals and election-cycle needs. - Support data-driven decision-making by developing dashboards, tracking systems, reports, and analytical tools for leadership, departments, and state teams. - Assist departments and leadership in leveraging data for planning, implementation, evaluation, and accountability. - Support implementation of data analytics into organizational processes and campaign execution. - Provide recommendations regarding ways to improve operational efficiency, targeting, reporting, and organizational coordination. - Help identify opportunities to strengthen organizational data usage and analytical capabilities. - Partner with Campaigns & Programs and state teams to support voter engagement, field organizing, digital outreach, and electoral programs. - Support development of targeting, reporting, and accountability systems tied to campaign and program goals. - Coordinate with state teams to ensure campaign plans, metrics, and reporting systems are operationalized effectively. - Support organizational readiness across campaign phases, including voter contact, reporting, and performance tracking. - Work collaboratively with partner organizations and vendors to support data-sharing and effective implementation of campaign technologies and best practices. - Support implementation and effective use of organizational systems and tools across departments and states. - Develop and conduct trainings to strengthen staff capacity and data literacy across the organization. - Support adoption of best practices related to data usage, reporting, targeting, and operational systems. - Coordinate with external vendors and technology partners to support organizational needs and system improvements.
