Role Description The Account Director at CG Life is an essential leader and strategic client partner with 10 years of agency experience in the pharmaceutical sector. This individual thrives in fast-paced environments and is excited by the challenge of helping their clients obtain results. The Account Director combines past experiences, an in-depth understanding of market strategies, and the client’s goals to execute marketing projects, programs, and campaigns successfully. This individual is committed to challenging the status quo and inspiring others to do the same as they lead their teams within the Client Services department. This is a remote-flexible role; candidates in the Eastern Time Zone are preferred. Key Responsibilities - Client Relationships: - Builds and maintains strong business relationships by establishing trust and credibility at all levels in the client's organization, including senior management. - Establishes regular communication with clients to ensure their satisfaction and facilitate our long-term profitability and growth. - Persuades clients as a strategic partner with a perspective they can trust. - Guides client planning and forward-thinking via established industry knowledge to support the agency's recommendations. - Account Growth: - Drives the growth of client accounts by identifying challenges and pursuing upsell opportunities. - Collaborates with key leaders to present effective solutions that engage clients and generate excitement for additional projects. - Supports new business efforts by actively participating in strategy sessions, attending pitches, and delivering presentations when appropriate. - Account Finance: - Ensures the accurate management of the account financials, including managing reporting. - Leads and reports on monthly and quarterly forecast updates for the assigned client account(s). - Project Oversight: - Displays personal ownership and responsibility for the client account by handling all elements from the briefing to the scope execution. - Leads assigned agency team to deliver for clients, ensuring all work is on strategy, on time, and on budget. - Directs, coaches, and motivates the client services team to effectively deliver for our clients. - Leadership & Strategic Guidance: - Acts as the client’s champion internally and brings their point of view to our work. - Expert on the client account, target audiences, and competitive landscape to contribute toward business solutions for their business, ensuring our solutions align with their goals. - Successfully serves as a point of authority and/or source of advice for assigned client(s). - Responsible for brand planning, strategic and tactical deliverables, and contributing to budget planning. - Demonstrates influence and diplomacy in written and verbal presentations. - Internal Relationships: - Builds strong relationships with all functional team leads, ensuring the client’s objectives are consistently met. - Exhibits effective working relationships across CGL capabilities to drive complex projects from both a strategic and business relationship perspective. - Knowledge & Expertise: - In-depth understanding of omnichannel marketing concepts and campaigns, including best practices across digital channels, data management, analytics, and related technologies. - Leads assigned agency team to deliver for clients, ensuring all work is on strategy, on time, and on budget. - Expert on the client’s business, customers, and competitive environment. - Leads meetings and contributes strategically not only in tactics but also in positioning and planning. - Understands client performance metrics and takes initiative to align their personal goals by analyzing progress, providing constructive feedback, and implementing tailored strategies for success. - People Management: - Effectively manages, guides, and coaches direct reports by staying involved in their development and providing valuable feedback, guidance, and encouragement. - Takes an active role in mentoring junior team members and alerts them to opportunities for mentorship across CGL to achieve career goals. - Models strong leadership and team management skills. Qualifications - 10+ years of pharmaceutical agency experience. - Experience working on a DAOR pharmaceutical brand. - Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. - Strong leadership and team management skills. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Client-facing presence and interaction with C-Suite level must be demonstrated. - Flexible and agile, with the ability to quickly change course when the need arises. - Strong analytical and strategic-thinking abilities to carefully manage details while juggling multiple projects. - Ability to put together professional-looking documents and presentations. - Strong presentation/public speaking skills. - Ability to focus and work under pressure during tight deadlines with humor, tact, and professionalism. - Willingness and ability to travel frequently (1-2 times per month). As required by law in this state, the estimated salary range for this position is $130,000 - $140,000 USD and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus program, subject to the rules governing the plan.
