• Design, build, and deliver large-scale and real-time systems with high quality, scalability, and operability in mind. • Collaborate with product management, data engineering, and other engineering teams to bring end-to-end solutions to our customers. • Review and provide feedback on technical designs and code changes to engineering peers. • Proactively identify areas of technical debt and propose solutions to address them. • Take operational ownership of the system by using monitoring and observability tools to identify and respond to issues. • Mentor and coach team members to raise the technical bar on the team.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- Significant experience in software development with modern programming languages, experience programming in a functional style.
- Track record of leading the design and delivery of large, ambiguous projects end to end, and influencing technical direction beyond your own team.
- Strong software design and architecture skills, including designing for scalability, performance, and reliability of high-traffic systems.
- Experience building distributed systems or public-facing/platform APIs.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or GCP.
- Ability to effectively communicate with engineers and non-engineers alike.
- You use modern AI development tools fluently to ship faster without sacrificing quality. This means practical experience with AI coding assistants, understanding how to provide effective context, and critically evaluating generated code for correctness, security, maintainability, and long-term code quality.

Role Description The Software Engineer, Desktop will own how the system behaves on desktop environments. Your work focuses on reliability, performance, and real-time behavior in production desktop applications. This position is 100% Remote. Responsibilities - Build and maintain cross-platform desktop applications using Electron. - Design responsive and scalable UIs for real-time collaboration. - Implement desktop-specific functionality including file system access, native notifications, auto-updates, and deep linking. - Integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI)-powered features (chat, agents, AI assistance) via backend APIs. - Optimize startup time, memory usage, and runtime performance. - Profile and reduce Electron overhead. - Manage large local state and message history efficiently. - Ensure smooth real-time updates (messages, typing indicators, presence). - Maintain stability across macOS and Windows environments. Qualifications - Proven software engineering experience. - Artificial Intelligence (AI) experience required. - Hands-on experience building production Electron applications. - Strong proficiency in JavaScript and TypeScript. - Experience with React or similar UI frameworks. - Solid understanding of the desktop application lifecycle. - Experience with IPC communication. - Experience working with local storage (SQLite, IndexedDB, filesystem). - Experience with WebSockets or other real-time transport mechanisms. - Strong debugging and performance profiling skills. - Familiarity with native OS behaviors on macOS or Windows. - Tech Stack: Electron, Node.js, NoSQL, SQL, and Typescript. • Lead OSP due diligence. Internal authority on outside-plant due diligence across new deployments — site assessment, provider qualification, and risk identification. • Distinguish yourself as a design team leader and liaison to Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil disciplines for coordination on connectivity pathways. Help set our team up for success as an inside authority on clear pathway requirements and constraints. High visibility for upward mobility and promotion as our business grows rapidly • Fiber distribution design. Own fiber distribution design and iterate project-to-project based on deployment-specific factors including scale, phasing, and site topology. • Own conduit sizing decisions across fiber ingress, inter-datahall connections, and pathway type selection. Oversee pre-cabled trunk sizing. • Cable tray loading and bonding/grounding coordination. Own cable tray loading calculations. Coordinate between the OSP provider and Armada's electrical engineers overseeing telecom bonding and grounding (TGB, TBB). • Oversee pre-construction submittals, including action submittals (technical approvals, product data, drawings, etc) to ensure compliance with project requirements. • Resume building opportunity to support SE lead technical sales motions for highest impact campus opportunities. Planned deployments of 20MW-50MW and greater capacities, deal sizes on average 200MM and greater
