Job Description

Automotive Office Manager – Controller

Lithia

• Maintain dealership financial records, ensure accurate month-end closings, and review general ledger schedules. • Monitor operational income statements, conduct fraud prevention reviews, and ensure adherence to internal controls and LAD financial policies. • Oversee accounts receivable collections, daily bank postings, and bank reconciliations. • Review or prepare payroll and accounts payable for accuracy and timeliness. • Conduct physical vehicle inventories, reconcile parts inventory, and support fixed asset reporting. • Resolve issues related to inbound and outbound vehicle documentation. • Partner with dealership leadership (especially the GM), manage a team of 2–10 staff, and support hiring, training, and performance management. • Ensure compliance with manufacturer programs, warranty claims, and reporting requirements. • Participate in budgeting (up to $8MM), support stores with up to $200MM in revenue, and contribute to M&A activities.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or 3+ years of dealership accounting experience (required)
  • Experience in team leadership and the auto industry (preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail, urgency, and communication
  • Proficiency in accounting processes, reconciliation, and financial analysis
  • Ability to interpret financial results and recommend actions
