The Manager Acquisition Hunting, Public Sector is primarily responsible for leading the sales community to success, through strategic leadership, customer engagement and effectively managing the business. Accounts will include the DOD, civilian and FSI. Travel will be up to 40% for this role, within the US. Responsibilities: Leadership: - Manages and controls sales activities for the team. - Will lead 7 or more direct reports. - Leads the sales community to success. Customer Engagement: - Orchestrates major Enterprise-level customer engagements for HPE to make sure we deliver results through the best customer experience in the industry. - Acts as role model for the sales community by displaying will to win and action oriented leadership, and by holding customers in the center. - Manages escalations to solution, and solution to opportunity. Drives a hunting mentality. - Engages with key customer executives (CEO, CFO, COO) to understand the customers' business context and build trust. Coaches and guides team members to develop and deliver HPE's value proposition in line with the customer's business priorities. - Creates early-stage opportunities by managing top customers' executive level relationships. - Coaches and enables teams to craft the right technical, IT investment, pricing and sales strategies to win. - Partners with stakeholders (channel, categories, HR, legal, other sales teams) across business units to maximize customer success and team efficiency across HPE. - Helps teams to bust barriers and overcome obstacles. Managing the Business: - Establishes sales methodology for end-to-end sales process management, with clear roles and responsibilities in each stage of the sales process. - Manages strategic and tactical sales planning at both segment and account levels, considering the intersection of technology, people, and economics. - Follows up to ensure consistent execution. - Provides timely and accurate sales forecasts and outlooks for customer and market dynamics. - Provides structured customer feedback, competitive assessments and won/lost deal analysis into category, R&D, strategy & planning, and sales teams to promote learning. - Deploys Purpose and Vision: Understands HPE's vision and strategy. Aligns and translates them into the team's vision, purpose, and clear goals. - Strategic Thinking: Understands how to best deploy the business model, individual and team strengths to the most impactful opportunities or challenges. Understands various sales motions and their impact on P&L. Coaches and guides the direct and indirect team to consider each deal's impact to HPE's long term success. Education and Experience: - University or Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience. - Public Sector experience. - Typically 10-12+ years' experience in sales, including success in achieving progressively higher quota and other sales goals. - 5+ years' experience managing high performing sales teams preferred. - Top Secret Clearance is preferred. - Demonstrated excellence in project management. Role Description As Commercial Development Manager you will develop quotes for plastic parts and assemblies based on engineering knowledge of the relevant processes that have significant business impact to Viant. Coordinates with business unit leadership, commercial team associates and site based teams to understand customer requirements and develop an optimized solution. Participates in customer meetings as a technical lead representing Viant capabilities. This is a remote position with 15%-25% traveling across the Viant facilities. What you will do: - Develop accurate and timely cost estimates for new injection molding and assembly business from customer provided information using Viant costing tools and engineering knowledge. - Analyze prints, solid models, specifications and other information to determine the most cost effective process to manufacture molded components and plastic part based assemblies. - Supports improvements to the quoting process to increase our win rate and overall team efficiency. - Identify appropriate Viant manufacturing sites for new business. Communicate with the targeted sites engineering and leadership teams to determine lead times, NRE costs, capacity availability and capital expense requirements. - Determine Viant capital investment required and resultant payback. - Support proposal development for targeted opportunities. - Determine customer funded NRE and capital required. - Work with the sales and key site team members to determine optimal price point that maximizes Viant profitability while offering competitive pricing that enables Viant to win new business. - Leads the approval for quotes based on revenue level, production site and customer. Includes interaction up to CEO, CFO, COO and CCO level to optimize Viant approach. - Represent the organization as a key technical contact for molding opportunities through participation in customer meetings as needed to explain our approach, solicit critical information, and collaborate with the customer to deliver a solution that meets their needs. - Possess strong expertise in injection molding tooling, equipment, and processes, and collaborate closely with other Viant SMEs to develop differentiated, winning business solutions. - Support Viant quoting process adherence to maintain accurate quoting records, may include training of sales team members on the process and forms required. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience. - 10+ years of injection molding experience in the healthcare/medical device industry, including at least 5 years in a related technical or commercial role. - Strong understanding of manufacturing process technologies, with specific expertise in: Injection molding / Injection mold tooling / Medical device assembly. - Experience quoting plastic components in IQMS preferred. - Experience managing Bills of Materials (BOMs) in IQMS preferred. Requirements - Strong understanding of injection molding production processes. - Proficient in SolidWorks for part analysis and cost model development, including: - Part weight analysis - Projected area calculations - Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews - Ability to accurately estimate: - Cycle times - Runner weights - Scrap rates - Labor requirements - Machine size and type - Automation requirements - Strong cost accounting and cost estimating expertise. - Ability to develop material and labor requirements to identify the most cost-effective manufacturing approach. - Strong understanding of financial analysis tools and Return on Investment (ROI) modeling. - Ability to read and interpret product design drawings used within the medical device industry. - Ability to use SolidWorks to manipulate models and drawings and extract information required for cost analysis and quoting.
