Role Description This is a remote position. Seeking a highly skilled, communication-focused UI Developer / Accessibility Expert to focus entirely on user interfaces and accessibility, rather than a backend or full-stack developer role. In this position, the resource will closely collaborate with our lead UX Architect and accessibility expert to scale high-quality digital standards across the enterprise. Role Description The Consultant, reporting to the Head of Engineering for the ShareTheMeal initiative, is expected to: - Develop features and improvements to the ShareTheMeal web app in a secure, well-tested and performant way. - Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to maintain a high bar for quality in a fast-paced, iterative environment. - Solve technical problems of medium to high scope and complexity. - Contribute to objectives and long-term goals of the web app. - Exert technical influence to improve the reliability of our products and systems. - Support defining and improving standards for style, maintainability, and best practices for a high-scale environment of the ShareTheMeal initiative. Maintain and advocate for these standards through code review. - Confidently ship large sized features and improvements with minimal guidance and support from other team members. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree - At least 4 years of experience in developing and designing JavaScript based web applications. - Expert knowledge of TypeScript and React.js development - In depth knowledge of Unit and End-to-end testing - Good understanding of JS testing frameworks like Jest, React Testing Library, Cypress, etc. - Embracing principles of clean code, test driven development and agile development processes - User-centered approach to software development - Strong analytical abilities, both quantitative and qualitative - Ability to interact with managers with maturity and tact. - Mature judgment with strong interpersonal skills - A positive mindset and collaborative spirit.
