Senior Manager, Procurement
RTX
• Lead and manage a team of acquisition professionals. • Partner with our suppliers to drive effective performance, strong relationships, and reliable health within the supply chain. • Manages internal customer and/or supplier issues • Manage financial goals in relation to subcontract deliveries • Drive the success of meeting business factory MRP requirements. • Provide guidance regarding compliance to procurement policies and procedures: Preparation of all manner of solicitations including RFQ, RFP, and RFI • Analyze quotations/proposals utilizing price/cost analysis techniques • Develop negotiation strategies and lead formal negotiations (Price, Delivery, Terms) • Place Purchase Orders of high dollar levels and procurement complexity • Perform risk analysis, and develop mitigation plans and solutions to problems • Travel to RTX and supplier facilities as deemed necessary - typical travel may be monthly or more
Job Requirements
- A University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience OR an Advanced degree and 7 years of relevant experience in supply chain management or similar role
- Experience with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR/DFARS) or within other heavily regulated industries such as pharmaceutical, medical, space, aviation, power generation or automotive
- U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required.

Role Description Performs inventory replenishment and planning activities related to product, tooling, and services for the Fastening/Construction Group. Ensures contracts, agreements, and conversations with vendors are in alignment with company objectives. Must represent the Company in a professional manner. Conducts negotiations with suppliers to secure consistent supplies and competitive prices. Will make decisions regarding stocking levels, costs, and participate in decision-making processes to add/remove vendors and products. Will be asked to provide analysis for product and vendor related information. The Fastening Buyer position reports to the Fastening Purchasing Manager. - Utilize best practices to maintain lowest cost and optimum inventory levels to minimize carrying costs while meeting customer requirements. - Negotiate favorable terms with vendors to reduce acquisition costs (lower item cost, freight terms, freight routing, rebates, returns/exchanges). - Utilize demand planning software, analyze purchase history, and work with additional departments to plan for future needs. - Evaluate item performance and recommend disposition for under-performing items. - Proactively monitor inventory to identify potential ‘surplus’ inventory situations and take corrective action. - Work closely with all personnel to keep abreast of changes in usage, pricing, stock-outs. - Responsible for day-to-day inquiries related to inventory: ETA dates (orders), expedites, pricing requests, new item additions, etc. - Maintain positive and proactive communication with sales and internal departments of the company. - Maintain records of orders, quotes, and vendor price information. - Understand (Ability to learn) the software application programs for inventory and replenishment and how they relate to other system modules, and ensure the data is accurately maintained. - As needed, enter and process transfers, participate in the return/credit process from our customers and to our vendors, obtain samples, etc. - Coordinate work schedule with the Fastening Purchasing Manager to ensure coverage during vacations, personal time, etc. - Other duties as assigned.
