Role Description This is a unique conveyancing role that offers far more variety than a traditional caseload position. - Support residential conveyancing files when colleagues are on annual leave or otherwise unavailable. - Ensure transactions continue progressing smoothly, providing continuity for clients. - Provide additional support across the business when active cover is not required. - Quickly assess a file, identify priorities, and build effective working relationships. - Opportunity to broaden expertise and develop skills. What Success Looks Like - Ensure client transactions continue progressing smoothly during colleague absences. - Build trusted relationships with property lawyers and conveyancing teams across the business. - Deliver excellent customer outcomes while maintaining service standards and compliance requirements. - Confidently manage a broad range of conveyancing matters with minimal supervision. - Support teams during periods of increased demand or operational pressure. - Contribute to a culture of shared responsibility, collaboration, and continuous improvement. - Help maintain high levels of service and client satisfaction. Responsibilities Case Cover & Transaction Management - Take temporary ownership of residential conveyancing files from instruction through to completion and file closure. - Progress transactions effectively, ensuring key milestones, exchanges, and completions remain on track. - Identify priorities requiring immediate attention. - Maintain accurate case records, notes, and activity updates within the case management system. - Resolve issues proactively to minimise delays and deliver positive customer outcomes. Collaboration & Communication - Develop strong working relationships with conveyancers and property lawyers across the business. - Provide clear file notes, updates, and recommendations to support smooth handovers. - Communicate proactively with clients, estate agents, lenders, brokers, and other conveyancers throughout the transaction process. - Support colleagues during periods of increased workload or operational demand. Quality, Compliance & Risk Management - Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and internal requirements. - Identify and resolve conveyancing issues across a range of transaction types. - Deliver work to a consistently high standard while meeting business performance expectations. - Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and client-focused service delivery. Supporting the Wider Business - Support teams experiencing capacity challenges. - Progress ageing or backlog matters. - Assist with exchanges, completions, and critical deadlines. - Contribute ideas and feedback to improve processes, workflows, and ways of working. Qualifications - Proven experience managing residential conveyancing transactions with minimal day-to-day supervision. - Strong experience handling sales and purchases from instruction to completion. - Experience of remortgage and transfer of equity transactions. - Experience of freehold and leasehold matters. - Strong communication and client care skills. - Excellent organisational and prioritisation abilities. - Confidence using case management systems and digital tools. - Flexible and adaptable approach to work. - Ability to quickly understand and take ownership of existing matters. - Strong team-working skills. - Recent CPD, including AML training.
