Mojang Studios is seeking an experienced, innovative, and collaborative individual with a passion for growing global and inclusive communities around our games and products to join the Community Team as a Minecraft Education Community Manager. You will play a key role in strengthening the connection between our education platform and global audiences, building and sustaining a vibrant community of practice for Minecraft Education, surfacing the voices of educators and parents in our community, and supporting impactful campaigns and events throughout the year. Responsibilities: - Build and execute a community engagement strategy that supports a growing user base and expanding global audience for Minecraft Education - Manage the Minecraft educator community in close collaboration with the Minecraft Education social, marketing, and PM teams, serving as a champion for educators and parents around the world - Drive adoption of Minecraft Education through coordinating strategic community activations, such as trainings and events - Lead Minecraft Education Ambassador program to identify and collaborate with community leaders for regional leadership and representation, product insights, and innovation - Regularly communicate and create reports that surface listening updates, learnings, and data around key beats while highlighting opportunities for Minecraft Education product and marketing teams - Advocate as the voice of the educator in product strategy, feature development, and learning experiences by providing input and community feedback to the product team Qualifications: - 2-4 years of community management or similar social media marketing experience - A passion for education with a love for Minecraft, an understanding of the Minecraft community, and the conviction to put our audience first - Experience with education, educational technology, or teaching communities, policies, and best practices - Familiarity using data to adjust and optimize strategy and activations for community-facing channels - Familiarity and user of community and social media platforms In the end, it’s the people of Mojang Studios that make this place truly special. Typical Day in the Role • Purpose of the Team: This is the community team for Minecraft. he purpose of this team is to serve as the bridge between the Minecraft community and the development team by driving community engagement, gathering feedback and insights, and supporting educators through the Minecraft Education ecosystem. • Key Projects: This role will contribute to initiatives focused on Minecraft Education, supporting engagement with the teacher/educator audience. Unlike other Minecraft products that primarily engage players, this role works directly with facilitators of education, such as teachers and educators who use Minecraft in the classroom, to build community, share resources, and support classroom use. Candidate Requirements • Disqualifiers: Candidates will not be eligible for the role if they have no understanding of Minecraft (ex. have not played it or lack general knowledge of the product). • Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would include an education background or experience in an education-adjacent role (candidates do not need to have been a teacher), along with familiarity or hands-on experience with Minecraft Education, which would give them a strong advantage. Hard Skills Assessments • Expected Dates that Hard Skills Assessments will be scheduled: week of the 6th • Hard Skills Assessment Process: The assessment process will include two rounds – one with the sponsor then one with another FTE. • Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, faith-based organizations, and local partners in assigned regions, with a focus on historically undercounted populations. • Execute outreach strategies and meet assigned engagement goals, including volunteer recruitment, canvassing, phone banking, one-on-one conversations, and community events. • Plan, support, and participate in outreach events and educational initiatives in collaboration with partners. • Track and report outreach activities and metrics accurately and in a timely manner. • Maintain organized and up-to-date records of contacts and engagement efforts, coordinating with the Data Team as needed. • Recruit, train, and support volunteers, with the goal of developing long-term community leadership through a ladder of engagement. • Utilize digital and relational organizing tools to expand outreach efforts. • Stay informed on civic engagement trends and represent Fair Count at meetings, events, and presentations. • Participate in required team meetings, trainings, and regular check-ins with supervisors. • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
