Community Development Manager
Metronet
• Responsible for seeking out new residential sales opportunities for Metronet across multiple markets and states. • Identify, coordinate, and implement market development plans designed to maintain and increase residential sales opportunities for Metronet. • Secure new opportunities through developing relationships with residential housing contractors, single family Homeowner Associations, and Utility Companies. • Work with internal Community Development Operations, Outside Plant, and Residential Sales teams to maintain a timeline and schedule for efficient delivery of Metronet services. • Build and maintain a targeted sales approach by conducting in-depth research and analysis of territory, including competitive landscape. • Work and negotiate with developers, builders, city contacts, and Homeowner Associations to secure plats, power plans, and/or Utility Access Agreements (UAA). • Utilize multiple resources to evaluate residential growth opportunities. • Execute concept to completion used to secure new residential customers through expansions, jointly trench partnerships, and Utility Access agreement projects. • Work with Finance, Marketing, and Legal to develop quick to revenue opportunities, including responding to service inquiries and internally sourced growth leads. • Utilize CRM software to manage and maintain pipeline and projects related to residential growth. • Maintain and develop relationships with local organizations to elevate awareness of Metronet within the community. • Attend local community, governmental, and economic development events and meetings to forward the agenda of Metronet.
Job Requirements
- 4-year college degree in business, or related experience
- 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or marketing
- Working knowledge and experience with Access Laws, rules, and FCC requirements (Inside Wiring Rules) required
- Documented experience working and communicating with C-Suite
- Valid driver's license/satisfactory driving record
- Willingness to work as a team and independently.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications required, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Excellent communication skill both verbally and in writing to all levels of the organization internally and externally
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills, strategic planning, and problem-solving abilities
- Must be detail oriented & maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Prior experience in operations, marketing, or other aspects of the real-estate industry experience preferred
- Available to travel for training or as needed.

Role Description The National Laboratory of the Rockies (NLR) is seeking one student intern to support its collaboration with the Kern Community College District and the California Renewable Energy Laboratory (CREL). The Air Quality Monitoring intern will join the Impacts Analysis Group within the NLR Strategic Energy Analysis Center (SEAC), alongside researchers who perform a variety of environmental sustainability assessments of energy technologies. Example activities, to be confirmed in discussion between selected intern and NLR mentor: - Research and synthesize best practices for community air quality monitoring networks - Review existing air quality monitoring programs in California and the Kern County region - Support development of potential configurations for integrating KernCCD-hosted low-cost sensors with existing sensor networks - Assist with environmental data collection, analysis, and presentation - Help develop community science and educational materials Qualifications - Currently enrolled in an accredited associate or bachelor’s degree program in engineering or engineering technology, environmental science, chemistry, energy systems, sustainability, public health sciences, data science, applied mathematics, research laboratory technology, industrial automation, or a related field - Interest in air quality, energy systems, sustainability, applied research, or technical education - Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint - Strong written communication and organizational skills - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment - Experience conducting literature reviews or organizing technical information Requirements - Associate: Minimum of a 2.7 cumulative grade point average. Role Description As the Community Engagement Manager (6-Month Fixed-Term Contractor), you will champion and manage StartOut’s core infrastructure for regional and virtual community mobilization. You will lead, recruit, and inspire a network of over 80 local and topical Leadership Council members (volunteers), while collaborating closely with corporate sponsors and community partners. Key Responsibilities - Community Volunteer Support & Leadership Councils - Lifecycle Management: Recruit, onboard, and offboard diverse Leadership Council Chairs across all new and existing regional chapters, ensuring strict alignment with StartOut’s annual strategic growth goals. - Volunteer Enablement: Empower Council Chairs by providing ongoing outreach strategies, recruitment tools, code of conduct oversight, and localized volunteer engagement support. - Program Planning & Design: Guide Council Chairs in architecting high-value local events that expand the StartOut founder footprint. - Training & Governance: Deliver comprehensive annual training sessions covering board responsibilities, meeting facilitation, and event excellence. - Data & Diversity Tracking: Conduct monthly audits of volunteer and board compositions, translating findings into quarterly actionable insights on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). - Operational Infrastructure: Equip leaders with localized event-planning kits, templates, and best-practice playbooks.
