Job Description
CMS Template Engineer
Ruby Labs
Role Description We are looking for a highly structured CMS Template Engineer to own and scale the agreement template engine for one of our core D2C subscription products. You will be fully responsible for translating legal requirements into modular content blocks and conditional logic in the CMS — building questionnaire-driven flows that generate accurate legal documents for hundreds of thousands of customers. This is a role at the intersection of structured content and legal comprehension, suited for someone who breaks complex documents into clean, modular logic. Every branching rule you build determines what a customer's final agreement contains — errors compound, so rigor is not optional. The operation is scaling template output 5–10x. The bar is high and so is the upside — performance here is directly and significantly rewarded, and strong operators take on bigger scope fast. Key Responsibilities - Template Logic & Build - Translate legal drafts from the legal team into structured CMS content models - Build modular content blocks, clauses, and conditional logic powering questionnaire-driven agreement flows - Design branching question flows — dependencies, conditions, exclusions — that generate the correct final document - Own end-to-end template accuracy from legal draft to published flow - Content Systems & Library - Manage versioning, taxonomy, and metadata across the template library - Audit and refactor existing templates for accuracy, modularity, and scalability - Coordinate with engineering when content models or integrations need updating - Process & Velocity - Drive weekly template output targets as production scales 5–10x - Use AI tools to accelerate template construction and QA - Partner with the legal team to clarify requirements and close review loops fast Qualifications - 2+ years in technical content management, content operations, document automation, or a similar hands-on role - Strong hands-on experience with CMS platforms — content models, collections, fields, relationships, conditional logic, versioning - Ability to read and work fluently with legal documents — clauses, conditions, and how they interact (formal legal training not required) - Demonstrated ability to break complex documents or flows into modular blocks and conditional rules - Hands-on familiarity with AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) to boost personal efficiency Requirements - Structured thinker — you see systems and logic where others see walls of text - Extreme attention to detail — a wrong condition in a legal template compounds silently - Self-directed — you drive templates from draft to published without hand-holding - Fast but rigorous — velocity never comes at the cost of accuracy under your ownership Benefits - Remote Work Environment: Embrace the freedom to work from anywhere, anytime, promoting a healthy work-life balance. - Unlimited PTO: Enjoy unlimited paid time off to recharge and prioritize your well-being, without counting days. - Paid National Holidays: Celebrate and relax on national holidays with paid time off to unwind and recharge. - Company-provided MacBook: Experience seamless productivity with top-notch Apple MacBooks provided to all employees who need them. - Flexible Independent Contractor Agreement: Unlock the benefits of flexibility, autonomy, and entrepreneurial opportunities. Benefit from tax advantages, networking opportunities, reduced employment obligations, and the freedom to work from anywhere.
