Role Description You are a strong collaborator across multiple teams and throughout large enterprises to advocate and constantly evolve design and research processes to drive innovation. You possess deep experience applying a wide array of user experience research methods and tools. You are an expert communicator who builds strong relationships and partnerships. You are creative in seeing the bigger picture, identifying key gaps, and solutioning to fill those gaps. You are able to adapt or develop processes, tools, and approaches to improve the research function. You are comfortable presenting complex findings and insights to a senior level audience. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: - Define and measure quantitative UX goals and metrics to assess and "success" across our digital experiences. - Identify and frame strategic problems, own the research lifecycle, translate insights to influence both short and long-term product decisions and roadmaps. - Conduct statistical analysis to extract key insights from data and communicate findings in ways accessible to technical and non-technical audiences. - Support product teams across software and hardware to plan, launch, and analyze surveys. - Work closely with XFN partners to demonstrate the value of quantitative user research and guide product direction. - Demonstrate excellent statistical and scientific judgement, producing rigorous results in a fast-paced environment, and setting a high technical standard. - Generate and communicate results, crafted for the intended audience. - Manage and prioritize multiple projects of varying timelines, degrees of complexity, and scope. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Statistics, Psychology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 5+ years of experience in an applied research setting, or similar. - Experience with software tools for gathering (Qualtrics, survey tools, Medallia, Full Story, Glass Box, etc.), analyzing (SPSS, SQL, SAS), and presenting key data visualizations (Powerpoint, Figma, etc.). - Experience with product research, either in an end-to-end, usability, or generative setting. - A portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables. Requirements - Deep empathy, creativity, and problem-solving experience. - Deep experience planning and conducting qualitative and quantitative research for complex applications. - Strong strategic research skills, with the ability to develop and deliver a research strategy. - Expert ability to plan and conduct discovery and research activities, strong presentation skills, and a focus on ensuring insights are implemented into the best user experience. - Strong presence, including ability to partner with, and effectively influence, product and engineering leaders. - Skilled at communicating verbally and in writing to diverse audiences. - Proactive self-starter: assertive and able to ensure that Usability Design principles are adhered to. - Strong prioritization skills and ability to quickly re-prioritize in a dynamic environment. - Analytical mindset and creativity to balance detailed problem solving with 'big picture' strategic view. - Proficiency with research tools for various research purposes, such as Qualtrics, UserTesting, Userlytics, etc. - Familiarity with design tools, such as Figma, Protopie, etc. Company Description

Role Description The objective of this consultancy is to support the above-mentioned research activities in Sudan. The consultancy will support the finalization of the midline design (protocol) and instrument, amendment of the ethical clearance, training of the fieldwork team, quality assurance of field data, causal analysis of the interviews with Causal Map and thematic analysis of the focus groups with MAXQDA, drafting of report (draft and final versions) and brief (draft and final versions) and dissemination activities. - Inception: Conduct up to 10 key informant interviews at the programme level to complement the description of the intervention; conduct desk research about maternal health, care practices and gender norms in the region, for the background chapter of the report. - Design: Develop the final study design, research protocol, instrument, and amendment of the ethical clearance (including addressing the Board requests, as needed). - Training: Prepare the QUIP enumerators training and facilitate the training, in close collaboration with the national partner (data collection firm). This will require an in-country mission of approximately 7 working days. - Data collection: Monitor the data collection operation and the transcription process (in close collaboration with the local data collection firm), transcripts quality assurance. - Analysis: Elaborate the analytical strategy and codebook for the thematic analysis, clean the QuIP data set, conduct the coding and analysis through Causal Maps and MAXQDA of the 112 transcripts. - Draft report: Following the analyses, draft the report (all chapters), including revisions following the internal review. - Validation workshop: Preparation work for the workshop, presentation of the report preliminary findings to key stakeholders to collect their feedback. The workshop will be held online. - Final report (post-workshop): draft of the final version of all chapters based on the feedback collected from the validation workshop, and feedback from two external reviewers. - Dissemination activities: draft the report brief (including any revisions), one slide-deck, and deliver presentations as required. Qualifications - Master's degree in Sociology, anthropology, public/social policy, public health, or related field. - At least 5 years of professional experience in qualitative research and evaluation, in low- and middle income contexts, especially in Sub-Saharan Africa. - Strong experience with Qualitative Impact Protocol (QUIP) data collection, including in QuIP training for data collection. - Strong experience in applying the Qualitative Impact Protocol (QUIP) for the analysis using CausalMap. - Excellent qualitative analytical skills and writing skills. - Expertise in social protection. - Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
