The Energy Intelligence team at Renew Home is responsible for the home energy optimization feature set which is at the heart of the value Renew Home provides. You’ll take significant ownership of end-to-end algorithm development—from discovery to deployment—contributing directly to the value we provide the grid and to company performance. This includes tackling challenges like co-optimizing thermostats, home batteries, and electric vehicles - taking into account user needs, physical system dynamics, and grid demand. What You Will Do Algorithm & Model Development - Optimize load profiles across multiple classes of devices including thermostats, home batteries, and EVs. - Develop and productionize algorithms and models using machine learning and statistical techniques. - Analyze diverse datasets such as device temperature, energy consumption, user interactions, grid carbon emissions, weather, and energy markets to inform product direction and algorithm design. - Show significant ownership of the algorithms team’s software architecture. Project Leadership & Collaboration - Collaborate with Product, Product Design/UX, Operations, and Engineering to define and deliver impactful features. - Drive software projects independently over multi-week timeframes, designing and leading longer term efforts within the team and cross-functionally. - Provide technical leadership in small engineering groups. - Help clarify ambiguous problems and shape solutions that balance technical feasibility and business needs. • Control Tower Development: Design and build the supply chain analytics framework, developing KPIs and dashboards that provide visibility into fulfillment performance, inventory health, labor productivity, transportation efficiency, and customer experience. • Operational Performance & Cost Optimization: Develop automated auditing and monitoring tools to identify margin leakage, cost inefficiencies, productivity gaps, and service risks across warehousing, transportation, and inventory operations. • Inventory & Network Analytics: Analyze inventory flow, demand patterns, capacity utilization, and network performance to improve service levels, reduce carrying costs, and increase throughput. • Data Integrity & Systems Strategy: Partner with technology and operations teams to define data requirements, improve system integrations, and build a scalable analytics roadmap across WMS, TMS, OMS, and related systems. • Advanced Analytics & Decision Support: Apply predictive modeling, regression analysis, segmentation, and forecasting techniques to identify performance drivers and inform operational strategy.
