If you're a data enthusiast passionate about uncovering the "why" behind the numbers, we want you on our team. - Manage and execute web scraping activities using internal tools to gather competitive intelligence and market data. - Provide expert support to field teams on best practices for identifying, reporting, and leveraging competitive intelligence. - Conduct in-depth competitive analysis, market research, and ad hoc analytics to provide actionable insights into key competitors in the retail environment. - Lead survey generation and data consolidation efforts, leveraging MSFT Office Suite (Power BI, Excel, Power Query) and SQL for efficient analysis. - Develop compelling data visualizations and dashboards to effectively communicate market trends, forecasts, and revenue analysis to stakeholders. - Partner with field training departments to develop programs highlighting key market trends and empowering teams with data-driven insights. - Conduct comprehensive online research on direct and indirect competitor presence, branding, and digital strategies. - Synthesize data from multiple sources (online research, field feedback, raw data, CRM) to create holistic reports that inform strategic decision-making. - Support corporate research initiatives by providing data-driven insights and recommendations to internal teams for business development. - Proactively monitor, track, and report on shifts in retailer strategies, emerging market trends, and competitor activities. - Analyze competitors' key initiatives, product launches, marketing campaigns, and other relevant activities to provide a comprehensive view of their strategies. - Identify potential leads for new business tools and solutions, establish contact, and schedule discovery meetings to explore partnership opportunities. - Utilize advanced Excel skills (including Power Query) to automate reporting processes and perform complex data analysis. - Apply SQL proficiency to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from databases for reporting and ad-hoc analysis. - Translate complex data findings into clear, concise, and actionable insights for stakeholders at all levels. - Contribute to forecasting efforts by leveraging historical data, market trends, and statistical modeling techniques. - Perform revenue analysis to identify trends, growth opportunities, and areas for improvement. - Stay current on industry best practices and emerging trends in data analysis, market research, and competitive intelligence. - Execute additional initiatives and projects assigned to support the team's and the organization's overall goal. Qualifications - 3-5 years of proven experience in a business data analysis, strategy, research, or consulting role, demonstrating increasing responsibility and impact. - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and interpret large datasets. - Proficiency in analyzing sales trends, product landscape, consumer journey, market dynamics, and other relevant business metrics. - Experience with data mining, statistical modeling, and forecasting techniques is a plus. - Ability to identify key insights and translate complex data into actionable stakeholder recommendations. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros, and ideally Power Query/Power Pivot). - Intermediate to advanced skills in PowerPoint for creating compelling presentations and reports. - Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI (or Tableau, Qlik Sense, etc.) is essential. - Familiarity with SQL for data extraction and manipulation is highly desired. - Experience with programming languages like Python (or R) for data analysis and automation is a strong advantage. - Knowledge of CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and ERP systems (e.g., SAP) is beneficial. - Ability to understand client goals and demonstrate value through strategic, data-driven recommendations. - Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to identify areas for improvement. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively present complex information to technical and non-technical audiences. - Strong research skills and the ability to translate research findings into high-quality presentations and reports. - Ability to learn and adapt quickly to new technologies, methodologies, and business environments. - Strong work ethic, self-starter attitude, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. - Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. - Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and data integrity. Work Location: Remote (with potential rare travel for implementation project, training to vendor headquarters) The Epic Healthy Planet Team is responsible for supporting UPMC Quality Initiatives. This team supports changes to regulatory specifications, vendor upgrades related to these specifications, report development and testing, and rollout of tools to stakeholders to track and submit data.
