Role Description The position of Sales Manager – Intermodal will have responsibility for sales activities to achieve the company’s sales goals and objectives. The Sales Manager will develop and execute strategic sales plans to drive business growth, with a focus on acquiring new clients and maintaining strong relationships with existing ones. This role will drive sales growth in the intermodal space. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: - Business Development: - Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the intermodal space. - Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential clients. - Conduct market research to understand customer needs and market trends. - Client Relationship Management: - Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. - Act as the main point of contact for clients, addressing their needs and concerns promptly. - Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients to secure profitable business deals. - Sales Strategy and Execution: - Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve revenue targets. - Prepare and deliver sales presentations and proposals to prospective clients. - Collaborate with the marketing team to create promotional materials and campaigns that support sales efforts. - Performance Tracking and Reporting: - Monitor sales performance metrics and prepare regular reports for senior management. - Analyze sales data to identify trends and areas for improvement. - Adjust sales strategies based on performance analysis and market feedback. - Industry Knowledge and Networking: - Stay informed about industry developments, competitors, and regulatory changes. - Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences, as applicable, to network and promote the company’s services. - Participate in professional associations and forums to enhance industry knowledge. - Collaboration and Communication: - Work closely with the operations team to ensure seamless delivery of services to clients. - Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders to align sales activities with company goals. - Provide feedback to the operations team to help tailor services to market demands. - All other duties and projects as assigned. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in sales in intermodal sales. - Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets in a competitive environment. - Strong understanding of supply chain and logistics services. - Strong leadership and teamwork skills. - Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. - Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends and develop actionable sales plans. - Ability to travel as needed. - Proficiency in relevant software applications such as CRM systems and Microsoft Office suite. - Experience with SalesForce is a plus. The District Sales Manager (DSM) is responsible for managing and actively engaging dealers through regular in-person visits and hands-on collaboration. This role requires a strong on-the-ground presence, working directly with dealerships to support and represent the brand's products and services. They may be involved in various initiatives including developing and implementing marketing initiatives, customer retention, product displays, financial analysis, and training. All to ensure that our dealers understand and succeed in selling our products to the final customer. A day in the life of a DSM is very fast paced, and no two days will be the same. To succeed in this position, you must like to connect and influence people, but also be able to manage your time properly.
