Akamai Technologies

• Implementing Akamai delivery and performance products hands-on, building and maintaining live configurations and demo environments that show real capabilities on real traffic, not slideware • Designing and running reproducible benchmarking with documented, defensible methodology, validated against independent third-party measurement, to substantiate Akamai's performance advantages with evidence • Authoring reference architectures and demos that make Akamai's technical differentiation concrete for customers, field teams, and events • Owning the technical answer to what makes Akamai's distributed network and content delivery platform genuinely differentiated, and keeping that answer current as the platform evolves • Working directly with engineering to build working knowledge of network optimization, carrier and telco peering, route optimization, post quantum cryptography, developer experience, and performance • Producing a consistent cadence of technical thought leadership- deep-dive blogs, benchmark reports, conference talks, and demos- timed to global and industry events so Akamai shows up with proof when the market is paying attention • Partnering with product marketing to ground positioning, messaging, and competitive content in technical reality

Job Requirements

  • 6 years of relevant experience in technical marketing, solutions or sales engineering, or network engineering in CDN, content delivery, networking, edge or adjacent infrastructure, and a Bachelor's degree in a technical field or its equivalent.
  • Genuinely hands-on with the delivery stack: HTTP/2 and HTTP/3, QUIC, TLS, DNS, caching, routing and peering fundamentals, and the tooling to measure them, with working scripting or automation skills
  • Designed and run performance benchmarks with a methodology you can defend publicly
  • Built demos and reference architectures that technical audiences used and trusted
  • Comfortable engaging network engineers or peering, route optimization, and post-quantum cryptography, and equally comfortable presenting the implications to a non-technical audience
  • Excellent technical writing and public speaking skills, with published work or talks you are proud to share.

Title: IT Technical Writer Location: San Antonio TX US Job Summary Work collaboratively as part of a team of IT specialists and project managers in the Air Force Identity Assurance Branch, including support to the Air Force Public Key Infrastructure (AF PKI) Program. Develop and maintain technical documentation consisting of system descriptions, procedures, user guidance, position papers, and technical reports. Edit, standardize, or make changes to material prepared by other writers or personnel. Support initiatives to identify, evaluate, and field identity assurance solutions for local, enterprise, and cloud based IT systems. This role includes preparing recurring Monthly Status Reports (MSRs) covering program tasks, progress, risks, and performance metrics, requiring a skilled communicator with experience in a Department of the Air Force (DAF) or Department of Defense (DoD) context.
