Role Description Our client is seeking a driven, technically credible National Sales Representative to build and lead the national growth of their Foundation Drilling Tooling product line. This is a greenfield role: you will develop new business from the ground up, deepen existing customer relationships, and establish our client as a go-to supplier for foundation drilling contractors across the United States. Our client manufactures high-quality foundation tooling backed by competitive lead times and in-house manufacturing capability. You will own the foundation tooling effort while representing the broader product portfolio where natural cross-selling opportunities exist. This role carries genuine product-line influence. As the company's foundation tooling expert and voice of the customer, you'll: - Feed price targets, design requirements, and market intelligence back to engineering and marketing. - Shape the product line, not just sell from a book/catalog. - Work with a responsive engineering partner who understands sales urgency and will engage directly with customers when needed. Responsibilities - Business development: Identify, prospect, and close new foundation drilling tooling customers nationally, focusing on small-to-mid-size foundation drilling contractors. - RFQ & quote management: Respond to inbound RFQs, generating accurate, timely quotes and managing orders through production. - Account growth: Expand relationships with existing customers, increasing wallet share through foundation tooling, wear parts, and complementary products. - Wear-parts & consumables: Grow the recurring wear-parts business as part of a one-stop-shop support relationship. - Technical consultation: Understand contractors' rig configurations, ground conditions, and project requirements; recommend tooling solutions and bring in engineering support when needed. - Voice of the customer: Feed market intelligence, pricing input, and design/standardization requirements to engineering and marketing. - Trade shows & industry events: Represent our client at key events to build visibility and generate leads. - Jobsite presence: Conduct jobsite visits to build relationships, assess tooling performance, and identify additional needs. - Market intelligence: Monitor competitor activity, track industry trends, and target displaced or underserved customers. - Sales reporting: Maintain accurate CRM records, provide pipeline updates, and contribute to forecasting and territory planning. Qualifications - Minimum 5 years of outside sales experience in foundation drilling, deep foundations, or closely related heavy civil construction. - Established network of relationships with foundation drilling contractors, project managers, and equipment decision-makers. - Strong technical understanding of drilled shaft construction methods, rig types, and foundation tooling applications. - Demonstrated ability to translate customer requirements into tooling specifications. - Proven track record of opening new accounts and meeting or exceeding targets in a territory-based or national sales role. - Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and tooling specifications. - Comfortable working independently in a remote environment with approximately 50% travel. - Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills; proficiency with CRM systems and standard business software. Preferred Qualifications - Direct experience selling foundation drilling tooling at a tooling manufacturer. - Experience with ACIP/CFA piling methods and tooling, drilled shaft, or micro-pile applications. - Familiarity with foundation tooling manufacturing processes. - Existing relationships with small-to-mid-size foundation drilling contractors. - Active involvement with industry associations such as DFI or ADSC. - Experience in a growth-stage or start-up territory where building from the ground up was required. - Familiarity with helical pile systems as adjacent product knowledge.
