Software Engineering Team Lead

Role Description You've spent 5-7 years writing code and growing as an engineer. Now you want to lead. At ShippyPro, you'll take ownership of the Fulfillment Pod: the team building the systems that move millions of shipments every month. You'll report directly to our COO, with real influence on how we scale. If you think in systems, care about your team as much as your code, and want to build something that matters – keep reading. Qualifications - 5-7 years of experience in software engineering, ideally with some in a leadership or mentoring capacity - Strong knowledge of backend systems (PHP, NodeJS, or Python); our stack uses all three - Solid grasp of system design, clean architecture, and the trade-offs that come with scale - Experience leading, mentoring, or growing engineers — technically and personally - Comfort with ambiguity and fast-changing priorities - A problem-solver mindset: logical, curious, and allergic to over-engineering - Fluent in English (written and spoken) - we operate in English Requirements - Lead and grow the Fulfillment Pod – hiring, mentoring, and setting the technical bar - Own the architecture and delivery of core fulfillment systems - Balance hands-on coding with technical leadership – you're still in the codebase - Partner with Product and Design to turn roadmap into shipped, scalable features - Drive performance, scalability, and reliability across the pod's services - Bring AI into the workflow – automating what can be automated, freeing the team to focus on what matters - Run the team's rituals: planning, reviews, retros – keep them lean and useful Benefits - Competitive salary between €52,000 and €72,000, calculated through our salary simulator – built on objective metrics, because we believe in unbiased compensation - Performance bonus tied to impact - Meal vouchers (office or remote) - Mental healthcare - Yearly learning budget and AI tools - Remote flexibility with expenses-paid trips to HQ for team meetups - No clock-in/out policy and one-time home office allowance - Birthday Time Off – one extra day off, just for you - Career Growth Program – clear growth paths, structured goals, and continuous feedback - An international team that moves fast and cares about building things well
