Deputy Director & Counsel, Legal Operations

Role Description GlobalFoundries is seeking a Senior Manager, Legal Operations that will lead the strategy, governance, and continuous improvement of GlobalFoundries' legal operations capabilities, with a primary focus on contract lifecycle management (CLM), legal technology, workflow automation, and AI-enabled solutions. This role will drive operational excellence across contracting processes while enabling greater efficiency, compliance, scalability, and business partnership throughout the enterprise. Essential Responsibilities - Own and evolve GlobalFoundries' legal operations technology roadmap, including contract lifecycle management platforms, workflow automation tools, and emerging AI capabilities. - Lead the administration, optimization, and governance of CLM solutions, including templates, workflows, integrations, reporting, and user experience. - Identify, evaluate, and implement AI-enabled solutions that improve contracting efficiency, accelerate legal service delivery, and enhance business support. - Partner closely with Legal, IT, Procurement, Sales, Finance, and other stakeholders to streamline contracting and legal workflows across the enterprise. - Drive adoption of self-service contracting capabilities, automation tools, playbooks, and standardized processes that improve scalability and consistency. - Establish governance frameworks for legal technology and AI solutions, ensuring appropriate controls related to privacy, security, compliance, and risk management. - Oversee operational processes supporting commercial agreements, NDAs, procurement contracts, technology agreements, and other legal transactions. - Develop and monitor key operational metrics, dashboards, and reporting to measure effectiveness, adoption, cycle times, workload trends, and business impact. - Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing cycle times, improving stakeholder experience, mitigating risk, and increasing operational efficiency. - Create and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures, training materials, and governance frameworks. - Manage relationships with external legal technology vendors and service providers, including roadmap planning, upgrades, performance reviews, and contract management. - Lead cross-functional projects and change management initiatives that support the modernization and digital transformation of Legal operations. - Serve as a trusted advisor to Legal leadership on technology investments, process optimization opportunities, and operational strategy. Required Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in business, Legal Studies, Information Systems, Operations, or related field. - 8+ years of experience in Legal Operations, Contract Management, Legal Technology, Procurement Operations, or related discipline. - Experience implementing, administering, or optimizing Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms. - Demonstrated success leading technology-enabled process transformation initiatives. - Strong program and project management capabilities with the ability to manage multiple priorities. - Experience working across Legal, IT, and business organizations to deliver enterprise solutions. - Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and leadership skills. Preferred Qualifications - Experience with Icertis or other leading CLM platforms. - Experience implementing AI, automation, or digital transformation initiatives. - Semiconductor, manufacturing, or global technology industry experience. - Experience with CRM, ERP, and enterprise system integrations. - Experience developing operational dashboards and business metrics. - Lean Six Sigma, process improvement, or operational excellence certification. - Advanced degree (MBA, JD, or equivalent) preferred. Expected Salary Range $161,000.00 - $269,000.00. The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience, and location.
