Role Description The Estimator / Procurement Manager is responsible for generating accurate cost models and managing the material acquisition lifecycle for telecommunications projects, including DAS, structured cabling, fiber, ISP, and OSP. This role analyzes technical designs to build comprehensive project budgets, manages the Bill of Materials (BOM), and interfaces with vendors to secure pricing and ensure timely material delivery. - Review iBwave designs, architectural drawings, and site surveys to extract precise material quantities for DAS, structured cabling, fiber, ISP, and OSP projects. - Prepare complete labor and material estimates to generate comprehensive project budgets encompassing Hard Costs and Soft Costs. - Manage the centralized DAS and RAN BOMs, ensuring accurate specification, pricing, and tracking of all active and passive components. - Solicit and evaluate quotes from equipment vendors, distributors, and subcontractors to maintain cost efficiency and margin targets. - Evaluate distribution channels to maximize value in each market area and control costs. - Execute procurement operations, issuing purchase orders and coordinating delivery logistics to align with field deployment schedules. - Build and format formal pricing models for RFP responses, client proposals, and bid submissions. Use automation tools and AI to reduce input time and sources of error, and create greater standardization. - Track historical cost data and vendor pricing trends to improve future estimating accuracy and identify margin drift. Qualifications - 3-5 years of estimating and procurement experience in telecommunications, wireless infrastructure, or commercial electrical construction. - Strong technical understanding of DAS, RAN, structured cabling, fiber, ISP, and OSP network architecture and integration components. - Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (specifically Excel), PDF editing software, and cost-modeling tools. Automation, business intelligence, and AI tool proficiency are strongly desired. - Ability to read and interpret architectural, electrical, and RF engineering drawings. - Ability to perform takeoffs from construction drawings using tools like Procore and Bluebeam. - Proven ability to prioritize workflows to manage concurrent strict bid deadlines and project schedules. - Detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills for managing complex vendor and client interactions. Requirements - This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. - The employee is occasionally required to lift or move up to 10 pounds. - Must be able to pass a pre-employment screening that includes background and drug/alcohol testing. - Position requires working indoors in a professional office atmosphere.
