NuScale Power
• Helps to develop resolutions to complex problems that require the frequent use of creativity and innovation. • Utilizes engineering input from across the NuScale organization in the development of reactor servicing tools, inspection equipment, and control systems. • Prepares, checks, and reviews engineering reports, system descriptions and specifications, drawings, calculations, and other design documents. • Works on complex tasks in multiple and diverse areas. • Work collaboratively with the NSSS Component design organization. • Works collaboratively with the Civil/Structural team. • Works closely with Systems Engineering and the Operations group. • Assists in the planning and organization of complex engineering work. • Performs innovative and complex engineering assignments on a team dedicated to the development of an engineered product.
Job Requirements
- A B.S. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Nuclear Engineering from a four-year accredited (ABET preferred) college or university is required.
- A PE license in Mechanical, Electrical, or Nuclear Engineering is desirable.
- A minimum of 5 years of full-time, relevant professional experience is required.
- Must have demonstrated experience in:
- Implementing engineering design processes to design mechanical handling equipment and systems.
- Prior experience operating in a nuclear operating environment is a plus.
- Planning, preparing, and checking mechanical design documents for mechanical equipment and systems.
- Eligible to work under Department of Energy 10 CFR Part 810.

Role Description The purpose of the Supervising Professional Engineer position is to assure exceptional quality is provided for all projects completed for various clients in the power delivery trade. The position provides oversight to assure each project is completed in a safe, cost-effective, and reliable manner as well as in compliance with electrical engineering regulations. - Ensure deliverables released by design/engineering staff include the proper material lists, requisitions, labor estimates, site drawings, and construction drawings. - Make accurate engineering calculations. - Provide supervision and mentoring to assigned staff. - Verify power delivery equipment and material such as transformers, fusing, conductor capacity, etc. - Verify all projects are designed and in compliance with client’s specs. - Approval of time and expense reports. - Employee development and evaluations. - Participate in the development and management of operational budgets and strategic priorities. - Accountable for assigned operational P&L. - Develop relationships with key internal and external customers. - Perform other duties as assigned by leadership. - Lead and participate in operational and corporate initiatives. - Participate in the preparation of bids, RFPs, and RFIs. - Learn, practice, and promote ALL safety policies and procedures 100% of the time. - Participate in development, training, and hiring needs for staff as needed.
