Authorization & Eligibility Clerk – Hospice

• Track and request all authorizations for private insurance • Make modifications to improve the authorization process and relationships with provider under the supervision of the Billing Manager • Disseminate accurate information regarding authorizations to staff • Minimize denied authorizations • Schedule authorizations upon receipt • Enter staff schedules for private pay clients weekly • Verify insurance eligibility of clients on a monthly basis • Report unauthorized visits monthly • Adhere to work schedule and maintain good punctuality and attendance record • Adhere to dress code • Perform any other related duties and responsibilities deemed necessary by Supervisor.
Job Requirements
- Insurance experience preferred - running/reading eligs, requesting authorizations
- HCHB experience preferred
- Home health & Hospice experience required
- Possess knowledge of medical terminology and/or possess general medical background
- Ability to work with little supervision and make appropriate judgments
- Excellent organizational skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be dependable, tactful and ability to follow orders.
- Demonstrate ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Must have advanced computer skills.
- Must have excellent customer service skills.
- Must be proficient in Excel and Microsoft Word.
