Role Description SimplePractice is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer II with expert knowledge in Ruby on Rails and heavy Backend experience to help us roll-out the multitude of features and service improvements we have planned. About You: - You are a passionate, talented engineer, willing to push the limits of existing technology and create the best possible user experience. - You work on the front-end and have a heavier emphasis on the backend to develop new features from start to finish, including design of architecture, coding, and testing. - You are delighted by good design and bring that taste to your front-end work. - You love building products that help thousands of customers in their day-to-day life. Responsibilities: - Building out the next generation practice management platform. - Collaborating with our Product team to help understand customer needs, troubleshoot potential problems, and define upcoming features. - Write clean, efficient well-tested code that improves our code base in meaningful ways. - Help diagnose problems and architect solutions. Qualifications - You have 8+ years experience with Ruby on Rails, or other web application framework. - Solid experience in at least one modern JavaScript framework specifically Ember.js or React.js and the ecosystem around those frameworks. - Experience in reporting and analytics. - Designed and implemented large, scalable web applications and have an appreciation for clean, elegant, and simple code. - You have a track record of success mentoring other engineers. - Experience taking Rails apps from idea to production. - Understands the value and nuances of Test Driven Development. - Solid communication, technical design, and collaboration skills. - Comfortable working with remote teams, using Linear/Github/Slack to collaborate. - Experience with LLMs and AI coding assistants. Requirements - Solid understanding of web application security and best practices. - Working knowledge of managing MySQL/Postgres/Redis/NGINX. - Confident working with production environments to help troubleshoot problems. - Experience with Linux, preferable CentOS/RHEL. - Experience with compliance standards PCI/HIPAA. Benefits - Base salary is one component of total compensation. Employees may also be eligible for an annual bonus or commission. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. - The amount below represents the expected annual base compensation range for this job requisition: $208,000 — $260,000 USD.
