Job Description

Master Data Specialist

Sysco

• Perform activities required to create, change, validate and rationalize enterprise master data • Review, validate and execute global master data create & change requests in a multi-system environment • Perform basic statistical and relational analysis of large data sets to identify and correct inconsistencies and anomalies • Validate and syndicate changes to master data (Customer, Material, Vendor) as approved by the business review process • Analyze, validate, prioritize and execute requests for mass maintenance of Customer, Material, and Vendor master data • Monitor workload balancing system and process constraints to ensure service level targets are maintained • Communicate and liaise with business units to thoroughly understand business requirements and the impact of master data changes • Inform and advise requestors and key stakeholders of status as appropriate • Check, validate and execute Customer and Vendor hierarchy create and change requests • React to escalation notices to expedite creation or changes to master data by prioritizing and rebalancing other requests using a defined escalation protocol as needed • Apply business rules and best practices when reviewing requests to identify errors in global data fields and reject, escalate or remediate errors • Mult-task in a multi-functional environment while maintaining service level targets • Prioritize, execute, follow up and track data collection and validation projects (RFD) • Maintain and enhance Customer, Material and Vendor master data governance rules, standard operating procedures (SOPs), naming convention and other enterprise data standards

Job Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least 2 years of related experience analyzing, validating and posting data or a bachelor's degree
  • Experience and knowledge of departmental functions, terminology and interrelationships for data types such as: Customer, Vendor, and Material
  • Wholesale foodservice distribution experience, master data analysis or similar data management experience preferred
  • Ability to select and consistently apply standard policies and procedures
  • Basic statistical and relational analysis skills including sound logical reasoning
  • Good oral and written communication skills with the ability to furnish concise information
  • Intermediate to Advanced Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with a particular emphasis on MS Excel, SAP, and SAP-Master Data Management application experience preferred.

• This position is responsible for leading other Clinical Data Associates (CDA) in collection of Non-CRF data/data management activities, during study set-up, conduct and closeout activities for multiple studies, providing support and may function as a backup for the Project Data Manager (PDM). • Maintains awareness of the pertinent elements of contract and scope of work for assigned project(s) and communicates status updates to the Project Manager (PM) and/or Biometrics Project Manager (BPM) as necessary. • Reviews and adheres to the requirements of study-specific DMP for assigned project(s) and updates as required. • Creates and enters test data for User Acceptance Testing (UAT). • Performs User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for data entry screens, edits and data review listings. • Completes and submits Clinical Database Management System (CDMS)-specific access forms and/or spreadsheets. • Performs reviews of discrepancy output and validation listings based on data entered into the clinical database. • Resolves answered queries and re-queries where appropriate. • Ensures all CRFs and DCFs received are returned for filing in the Document Control Room per the Data Tracking Guidelines for the assigned projects. • Participates/Leads in internal meetings and attends in-process review meetings. • Creates ad-hoc data cleaning reports used to determine if a validated listing is required including creation of the specification for the validated listing. • Trains and mentors DM staff providing timely feedback to trainee and management as appropriate.
