• Perform final reviews of individual, partnership, S Corporation, corporation, and business tax returns for accuracy and compliance. • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients throughout the tax engagement. • Communicate complex tax matters in a clear, professional, and easy-to-understand manner. • Respond to client questions and provide timely guidance on tax-related matters. • Identify tax planning opportunities and potential areas of risk. • Collaborate with Tax Seniors and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely filings. • Conduct tax research and resolve complex tax issues when needed. • Review workpapers and supporting documentation for completeness and accuracy. • Maintain accurate client documentation within firm systems. • Stay current on federal and state tax law changes and communicate relevant updates to the team. • Support process improvements that enhance the client experience and internal efficiency.
Job Requirements
- 4+ years of public accounting tax preparation and tax review experience.
- Strong experience reviewing individual and business tax returns.
- CPA, EA, or other relevant tax certification preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of U.S. federal and state tax regulations.
- Experience using professional tax preparation and accounting software.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple engagements while meeting deadlines.
- Client-focused mindset with exceptional attention to detail.

Tax Manager/Senior Manager Location: Lansing, MI Job Description: The Tax Manager/Senior Manager will be responsible for leading complex tax engagements and managing workflows and deliverables. The Tax Manager is expected to communicate effectively both orally and in written form and be a licensed CPA. The Tax Manager/Senior Manager will oversee the preparation of complex tax returns and provide tax research and planning services to clients. The Tax Manager will work with others cooperatively and with respect, accept responsibility for their work and their actions and demonstrate full knowledge and understanding of procedures and programs essential to client service within the Tax department. *This position will be based out of our Lansing office. Hybrid work schedule or fully remote is available. Essential Functions: - Conduct and supervise larger engagements. - Complete financial statements, tax returns and special services within your area of expertise. - Review reports, statements and returns processed by administrative staff. - Review work papers, financial statements and tax returns before submission to Senior Manager or Principal for further review. - Plan engagements to achieve quality goals and reduce time required to perform an engagement. - Begin an active practice development program and look for opportunities to provide additional services to clients. Education, Experience, and Skills Required: - Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration. - Licensed Certified Public Accountant - Minimum 4-7 years of Tax experience - Working knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems. - Well-developed financial analysis capabilities. - Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to get along well with diverse personalities, tactful, mature, and flexible.
