Web Developer – Contract
SpecterOps
• Design, develop, and maintain WordPress-based web properties, including custom themes and plugins • Build and update landing pages, campaign pages, and site sections in close collaboration with Marketing and Design • Implement responsive, accessible, and cross-browser-compatible front-end code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) • Optimize site performance including page speed, Core Web Vitals, and SEO best practices • Manage WordPress configuration, plugin updates, and security hardening • Integrate third-party tools and APIs including CRM, marketing automation, and analytics platforms • Troubleshoot and resolve front-end and back-end issues in a timely manner • Maintain clean, well-documented code and follow established development standards • Support QA and testing processes to ensure consistent, high-quality releases • Collaborate asynchronously with a remote-first team across Marketing, Design, and Operations
Job Requirements
- 5+ years of professional web development experience, with significant focus on WordPress
- Strong proficiency in PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (vanilla and/or modern frameworks)
- Hands-on experience building and customizing WordPress themes and plugins from scratch
- Experience with WordPress VIP, including familiarity with its hosting environment, deployment workflows, and code standards
- Familiarity with page builders such as Elementor, Gutenberg, or similar tools
- Experience integrating HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Analytics, or similar platforms
- Understanding of web performance optimization, Core Web Vitals, and technical SEO
- Solid grasp of WordPress security best practices and site hardening
- Experience with Git-based version control workflows
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment
- Strong written communication skills for async collaboration.
