Job Description
Product Designer
EverCommerce
Role Description We’re looking for a Product Designer to help drive activation, retention, expansion and lead the design for our upcoming multi-tenant SaaS experiences in Joist. This is not a purely visual role. It’s about shaping flows, reducing friction, and making sure every screen earns its place. Designing for Joist would mean balancing the daily workflows of end-users, managing intricate permissions and role-based access controls, and ensuring our design system scales across multiple distinct user environments. This role is hands-on, data-informed, and impact-driven. You’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Data to design experiences that help users see value fast and keep coming back. Key Responsibilities - Create intuitive user experiences that gracefully handle complex state management, data isolation, cross-account navigation, and hierarchical user structures. - Design distinct, tailored workflows for different user types while maintaining a cohesive core product experience. - Improve activation moments, paywalls, feature education, and upgrade paths. - Reduce friction across key flows like invoice creation, payment setup, and recurring billing. - Collaborate with Marketing on in-app messaging, experiments, and lifecycle touchpoints. - Treat every interaction as an opportunity to increase clarity, confidence, and conversion. Experimentation & Iteration - Work closely with PMs and Data to design and ship experiences and experiments. - Translate hypotheses into testable product experiences. - Use analytics, session recordings, and user research to inform design decisions. - Iterate quickly based on results without sacrificing craft. - Balance short-term experiments with long-term product quality. Discovery & Problem Framing - Help articulate clear problem statements before jumping into solutions. - Conduct lightweight research, usability tests, and prototype validation. - Synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights into actionable design directions. - Simplify complex workflows into intuitive, scalable patterns. Collaboration & Craft - Partner deeply with Engineering to ensure designs are realistic and scalable. - Work within and contribute to our shared design system. - Present design work clearly and confidently, incorporating feedback without losing clarity of vision. - Maintain a high bar for usability, consistency, and polish. Qualifications - 3–5 years of experience designing digital products (mobile and/or web SaaS preferred). - Experience designing onboarding, activation, or monetization flows. - Strong understanding of product-led growth principles. - Comfortable working with analytics and data to inform design decisions. - Experience collaborating closely with PMs and Engineers in an agile environment. - Ability to move from low-fidelity concepts to high-fidelity production-ready designs. - A portfolio that demonstrates strong UX thinking, clean UI, and measurable impact. - Proficiency in Figma and working within a design system. It Would Be a Bonus If You Have - Experience designing for small businesses or service professionals. - Experience with subscription products, payments, or pricing experiments. - A portfolio that specifically demonstrates your ability to solve problems in multi-user environments (e.g., designing complex permission structures, cross-tenant workflows). - Familiarity with tools like UsterTesting.com, Figma, Claude Code, Cursor. Where The EverCommerce team is distributed globally, with teams in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Jordan, New Zealand, and Australia. This role can be based anywhere in Canada – if you’re close to one of our offices, we can set you up in-office or you can work 100% remotely. Please note that you must be eligible to work without sponsorship to qualify for this position. This role may require travel to our main office in Toronto, to our Corporate Headquarters in Denver, Colorado, or to other office locations around North America. Benefits - Flexibility to work where/how you want in your country of employment – in-office, remote, or hybrid. - Robust wellness benefits, including an annual wellness stipend. - Flexible and generous (FTO) time-off, a paid volunteer day of your choosing, plus 2 floating holidays to celebrate anything of significance to you. - Employee Stock Purchase Program. - Registered Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) with 4% company match. Compensation The target base compensation for this position is $105,000 - $115,000 CAD per year in most locations. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including location, local market variances, and candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above. Company Description EverCommerce is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. We look forward to reviewing your credentials and getting to know more about your experience!

• Shape the end-to-end admin experience by designing across a complex, multi-product ecosystem, ensuring these experiences feel coherent, not cobbled together. • Define and refine problem spaces with Product and Ops partners, framing work around clear admin, decision-maker, and business outcomes rather than a backlog of feature requests. • Help set the roadmap, not just execute it - partnering with Product, Engineering, and Data to ground priorities in admin needs, business health, and the realities of running food programs at scale. • Lead discovery grounded in how businesses actually buy and manage food by partnering with Sales, Account Management, Support, and Research to understand the realities of enterprise procurement, program administration, and organizational complexity. • Design for multiple personas at once including decision-makers, billing leads, program admins, and corporate orderers - ensuring handoffs between roles and surfaces feel intentional, not accidental. • Raise the bar on interaction, systems, and visual design as you craft user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes. Contribute to and advocate for our design system so admin experiences feel consistent, scalable, and accessible. • Use data and experimentation to guide iteration by collaborating with Analytics and Product to define metrics, design experiments, and interpret results. Bring partners along with clear storytelling and artifacts. • Use AI-powered tools to move faster across the design process, from early prototyping to research synthesis, and help raise the bar for how the broader team adopts them.
