V2X

Role Description V2X is hiring a part-time RF Engineer to provide support at the Naval Air Station (NAS) Patuxent River. The candidate would support acquisition programs in proceeding through the equipment spectrum certification process to enable the legal radiation of spectrum dependent systems. The process includes: - Creating Spectrum Supportability Risk Assessments (SSRA) - Developing equipment spectrum certification packages using NTIA software tools like EL-CID/online - Working with the Navy Marine Corps Spectrum Center (NMSC) - Obtaining J/F 12’s - Assisting in the spectrum assignment process within the US&P and for Host Nation Coordination (HNC) Responsibilities include: - Providing technical expertise to the engineering team regarding EMC and the electromagnetic spectrum for Navy/Marine Corp spectrum dependent systems, including air/land/sea based systems. - Navigating multiple spectrum and frequency allocation databases to find information on systems of interest and applying this information to various platforms. - Researching and evaluating spectrum dependent system and equipment characteristics along with performance criteria. - Reviewing the intended use of the equipment and determining and assessing its conformance to applicable spectrum standards as defined in the NTIA Manual. - Calculating link budgets and performing coupling analysis to identify operating capabilities and feasibilities of DoD and other spectrum dependent systems, and developing EMC techniques to mitigate EMI. - Performing and documenting Spectrum Supportability Risk Assessments (SSRA)s for DoD acquisition programs at various stages of development. Additional Duties (as required): - Supporting business development efforts as required to include seeking growth opportunities. - Supporting proposal efforts to include writing responses to requests for proposals (RFP) and/or participating in review teams. Qualifications - BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or other related STEM degree - Experience in RF engineering associated with DoD spectrum dependent systems or in Navy/Joint Operational Spectrum Management and National Administrative Spectrum Management processes, applications, and systems. - Experience in the application of EMI, EMC criteria, or other engineering criteria for operational spectrum coordination and compatibility analyses. - Experience in the operation and evaluation of communications, combat systems, electronic warfare systems, navigation aids, and other spectrum-dependent systems. - Experience in conducting spectrum EMI/EMC evaluations, performing engineering analyses to predict and define spectrum EMI problems, and operational implementation of systems within the DoD. - Experience in developing and updating spectrum documentation, operational publications, position papers, white papers, and briefings relating to spectrum considerations and use. - 3+ years in Testing, modeling or evaluating Spectrum Dependent Systems, RF System Capabilities Analysis, Systems Integration, and Spectrum Policy. - General RF and electronic technology experience required. - EMI, EMC, RF Engineering, or Spectrum Management. Requirements - Experience in developing spectrum certification following the NTIA Manual of Regulations, preferably for airborne platforms including radars, communications systems (terrestrial and space), and EW systems. - Knowledge of systems utilizing the 960-1215MHz frequency band to include IFF interrogators, transponders, test sets, TCAS, and transponders. - Familiarity with the AIMS PO and the associated requirements.
