Job Summary This position is responsible for reviewing, editing, and auditing legal opinions and other caselaw content generated through AI-assisted processes. The role requires applying established Legal Editing Guidelines to quickly and accurately identify legal issues and determine the precedential impact to cases and statutes cited within opinion to ensure legal accuracy and proper analysis of legal precedent. The Editor/Publisher II evaluates the relationship between citing and cited authorities, determines precedential impact, and applies appropriate history and treatment letters and phrases. This role requires strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to deliver high-quality work within defined timelines. This is a home-based position. Key Responsibilities Legal Analysis & Editorial Decision-Making - Analyze legal documents to identify key issues and determine precedential relationships between cases and statutes - Apply approved history and treatment letters and phrases in accordance with Legal Editing Guidelines Content Review & Validation · Review history and treatment lettering against source material to ensure accuracy of legal issues and outcomes · Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or misinterpretations in output and correct as needed Quality & Workflow Execution · Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of all editorial work · Meet production targets and deadlines while maintaining high quality standards · Verify history chains and treatment relationships using designated tools and workflows Issue Resolution & Continuous Improvement · Resolve complex editorial and legal analysis questions · Identify guideline ambiguities or workflow improvements and raise them through appropriate channels · Perform additional editorial or administrative tasks as assigned Preferred Qualifications - JD, LLB, or LLM degree - Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills - Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply legal precedent and editorial guidelines - Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and escalation when appropriate - Excellent reading comprehension and issue-spotting skills - Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet critical deadlines - Flexibility to adapt to evolving workflows, including AI-assisted processes - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment #AIfluent U.S. National Base Pay Range: $53,900 - $89,800. Geographic differentials may apply in some locations to better reflect local market rates.
