About the Team The AI Group is building the foundation for AI across HiBob. We develop the AI infrastructure that powers the AI experience throughout the product. We ensure the production AI platform is stable, reliable and secure. Our mission is not only to build AI-powered features, but to enable every product team at HiBob to build reliable, scalable, and high-quality AI experiences. We work with modern LLM technologies, agentic workflows, MCP, retrieval systems, evaluation pipelines, distributed systems, and production-grade AI infrastructure, deploying to production multiple times a day. Job Requirements What We're Looking For Requirements are often considered a measure of how equipped you are to do the job-but they're not the only factor. Must Have - 10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong backend background. - 3+ years as a Tech Lead or technical leader in fast-paced environments. - Strong AI engineering skills, including context engineering, agent optimization, troubleshooting, and systematic evaluation of AI system performance. - Excellent system design and distributed systems experience. - Strong understanding of scalable cloud architectures (AWS or equivalent). - Experience building production-grade backend services and microservices. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. - Passion for solving complex technical problems. - Curiosity and excitement about AI and rapidly evolving technologies. - Ability to lead technical direction while remaining hands-on. Nice to Have - Experience building LLM-powered products. - Experience with Agentic AI, Tool Calling, MCP, RAG, or AI orchestration frameworks. - Experience designing AI evaluation frameworks and datasets. - Experience with AI observability and production monitoring. - Experience building internal developer platforms. - Experience with Kotlin, Scala, or Java. - Experience working with event-driven architectures. Job Responsibilities What You'll Do As a Tech Lead, you'll play a key role in shaping the future of AI at HiBob. You'll combine deep technical expertise with strategic thinking, helping multiple teams build production-ready AI experiences while driving engineering excellence across the organization. As a senior individual contributor, you will play a critical role in expanding what our reporting platform can do, enabling the team to build more reports, over more data, faster.
