Role Description We're looking for an experienced Electrical Estimator to take ownership of the estimating and tendering function across our commercial electrical projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working independently, has a strong eye for detail, and can confidently manage the estimating process from initial drawings through to client-ready tender submissions. As part of a close-knit team, you'll play a key role in helping the business win new projects by producing accurate, competitive estimates while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and clients. Key Responsibilities: - Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and project documentation. - Prepare accurate quantity take-offs for lighting, power, data, and other electrical systems. - Develop detailed project cost estimates using Microsoft Excel, including materials, labour, and subcontractor pricing. - Prepare competitive tenders and professional client-ready bid submissions. - Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors via email to obtain competitive pricing for electrical, civil works, and other trade packages. - Attend site inspections when required to support the estimating process. - Assist in developing project budgets and preliminary schedules. - Participate in client discussions during the tender process and support successful negotiations. - Maintain accurate records of estimates, supplier quotations, project correspondence, and tender documentation. - Use SimPro (or similar software) to support project tracking and documentation. - Proactively identify opportunities to improve estimating processes and contribute to business growth. - Work autonomously while collaborating effectively with the wider project team. Qualifications - 3–5 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator or in a similar estimating role. - Electrical trade background or a relevant qualification. - Proven ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications. - Demonstrated experience preparing quantity take-offs and detailed cost estimates. - Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite. - Experience preparing professional tender submissions and bid documentation. - Experience coordinating with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. - Self-motivated with the ability to independently manage the estimating function from start to finish. - Reliable internet connection and a dedicated home office setup. - Available to work during Australian business hours.
