Database Migration Consultant – Staff

• Develop, maintain, and optimize database objects using Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, and PostgreSQL. • Convert and remediate SQL Server database code for PostgreSQL compatibility. • Develop and maintain stored procedures, functions, triggers, and views. • Perform functional, integration, and performance testing of migrated database objects. • Analyze and remediate T-SQL to PostgreSQL syntax differences and compatibility issues. • Review and address findings from AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT) assessment reports. • Validate migrated data and support database migration testing activities. • Collaborate with development and project teams to support database modernization and migration initiatives.
Job Requirements
- 3+ years of SQL development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with: Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, and Views PostgreSQL and PL/pgSQL SQL Server to PostgreSQL code conversion and remediation Functional and performance testing of database objects Familiarity with: T-SQL to PostgreSQL dialect conversion (e.g., TOP/LIMIT, ISNULL/COALESCE, GETDATE()/NOW(), temp tables, identity vs. sequences ) AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT) assessment reports and remediation Data validation and migration testing Experience supporting database modernization or migration projects.
- Preferred Qualifications Experience with AWS Database Migration Service (AWS DMS).
- Experience with SSIS/SSRS remediation or migration.
- Experience with AWS services and SQL Server to PostgreSQL migration projects.
- Familiarity with AWS Glue and modern ETL migration concepts.
