Job Description

Senior Database Migration Consultant – Pod Lead

HIKINEX

• Lead database modernization and migration initiatives from SQL Server to PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL. • Design, develop, and optimize database objects, including stored procedures, functions, triggers, views, and SSIS/SSRS components. • Perform schema conversion and code remediation using AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT). • Plan and execute database migrations using AWS Database Migration Service (DMS), including full-load and Change Data Capture (CDC) migration strategies. • Optimize database performance through indexing, query tuning, and architectural improvements. • Review technical deliverables and provide guidance to database migration team members. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of database modernization initiatives. • Support database validation, testing, troubleshooting, and post-migration optimization.

Job Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in database engineering, database migration, or database architecture.
  • Expert-level experience with: Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, Views, and SSIS/SSRS
  • PostgreSQL and Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL PL/pgSQL development and performance tuning
  • SQL Server to PostgreSQL migration projects
  • Strong hands-on experience with: AWS Schema Conversion Tool (SCT)
  • AWS Database Migration Service (DMS)
  • Schema conversion and code-object remediation
  • Full-load and Change Data Capture (CDC) migration strategies
  • Database performance tuning, indexing, and optimization
  • Large-scale database modernization initiatives
  • Experience leading database migration teams and reviewing technical deliverables.
