Part-time Scorer/Student Writing Evaluation Consultant
ThinkCerca
This role involves scoring benchmark writing assessments and providing timely data and feedback to support students, teachers, and school leaders. Flexible part-time work: Offer at least 5 hours per week during peak assessment periods, with the flexibility to choose projects that fit your schedule. Competitive pay: Item-based compensation of $1.50-$2.50 per scored assessment, expected to net an effective $20-$30/hour once up to speed. Mission-driven work: Support teachers, students, and administrators with timely data and feedback to measure student progress and guide instructional next steps.
Job Requirements
- College degree required, advanced degree preferred, preferably in English, History, and/or education
- 3-5 years of experience in a classroom, preferably teaching English Language Arts, Social Studies or History
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Strong computer skills with an ability to learn and navigate new programs and platforms quickly
- Interest in tech innovation
- Optional: ability to grade writing in languages other than English, Spanish preferred
- Grading and/or assessment experience
- Expertise in giving feedback that focuses on praising the positive and offering actionable next steps for growth
- Availability to take on grading projects (5+ hours/week) during peak assessment periods (expected August/September, January/February, and April/May)
