Role Description Weyerhaeuser is seeking a Network Administrator II to work full-time within North America. We are looking for a talented administrator with a focus on network operations who is highly motivated to innovate, optimize, and automate. As a key contributor to our Enterprise Technical Solution - Network Services team, this position provides direct ownership of key infrastructure technologies. - Deploying, monitoring, troubleshooting, and refreshing network route/switch equipment, firewalls, WAN equipment. - Understanding of network routing concepts such as BGP. - Understanding the guiding principles of the standard OSI and Purdue models. Requirements - Planning, maintaining, and monitoring the core and remote site network hardware. - Use standard monitoring tools (SolarWinds, Catalyst Center, Meraki Dashboard, etc.) to ensure network availability. - Troubleshoot, configure, and operate network devices such as switches, routers, firewalls, SDWAN appliances, and wireless access points. - Follow all documented standard operating procedures in accordance with IT security policies. - Implement and optimize network solution designs aligned with company standards. - Follow standard procedures for deploying new network hardware and services. - Manage and maintain network diagrams and asset database. - Contribute to automation of network configuration and operational tasks. - Engage with key vendors and service providers for escalation and incident resolution. - Partner with the business to maintain optimal network services. - Travel as necessary to facilities across North America (expected travel 10 - 15%). - Participate in on-call rotation (one week every 6-8 weeks). - Ensure network infrastructure is maintained and updated with applicable firmware and security updates. - Proactively evaluate the as-is deployment for new enhancements to improve performance, security, efficiency, and cost. - Drive to automate where opportunities are identified. - Research the latest technologies and services that improve the overall infrastructure. - Seek and participate in continuous learning opportunities. - Invest in personal development to ensure continued development of relevant network skills.
