Role Description The Power BI Developer designs, develops, and maintains dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that translate complex datasets into clear, actionable insights for business and operational decision-making. This role partners with stakeholders and technical teams to define reporting needs, build robust data models, optimize report performance, and ensure data accuracy and integrity. The developer supports both ongoing sustainment and rapid delivery of new or updated reporting products, including documentation and data storytelling support. - Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports, including interactive visualizations that support operational and executive-level decision-making. - Build and optimize data models, including relationships, measures, and calculated columns; write and maintain DAX expressions. - Integrate and blend data from multiple sources to create consistent, accurate reporting datasets. - Ensure data quality, accuracy, and integrity through validation checks, reconciliation, and controlled refresh processes. - Optimize report and dataset performance, including model design, refresh strategy, and incremental refresh where appropriate. - Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, prototype dashboards, incorporate feedback, and finalize deliverables. - Produce and maintain documentation for dashboards, datasets, definitions, measures, and refresh processes; maintain a catalog/inventory of reporting products when required. - Provide recurring and ad hoc analytics support, including data analysis, insights, and presentation-ready outputs. - Support governance practices for reporting, including access controls, workspace management, and standardization of reporting assets. Qualifications - Minimum of five (5) years of experience developing enterprise dashboards and reports using Microsoft Power BI. - Demonstrated proficiency in data modeling and DAX; experience designing performant datasets and reusable semantic models. - Experience integrating data from multiple sources and working with large datasets to produce reliable visualizations. - Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into clear reporting requirements and deliverables. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy, consistency, and documentation quality. - Strong communication skills, including the ability to present insights and explain dashboards to technical and non-technical audiences. Requirements - Years of Experience: 5+ years - Clearance Requirements: Public Trust (Moderate Risk) - Certification Requirements: Preferred only — Microsoft PL-300 Power BI Data Analyst or equivalent - Ability to operate effectively in a remote environment and manage multiple priorities with deadlines. - Experience with M365 tools, including Excel and SharePoint, in reporting workflows is strongly preferred.
