Role Description Product Designers represent the voice of the customer at Avid and interact daily with the engineering development team as product owner. They are members of the Product Management team and share responsibility for the success of their product line. In this role, you will be expected to: - Collaborate closely with the Platform Avid Engineering team. - Guide, direct, and actively manage the product story backlog. - Answer questions about priorities and work with management to remove obstacles to progress. - Manage the “definition of done” as the yardstick against which work results are measured. Product Designers work cross-functionally to bring to market Avid products, services, and workflows that are innovative, reliable, integrated, and best of breed. They also work directly with customers and the 3rd party partner community to ensure that our priorities align with customer/partner priorities. This role is primarily focused on driving the integration of AI and AI technologies into our new SaaS-based products. Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience. - Knowledge of cloud technology and IT security is a must. - Knowledge of workflows for TV, Film, Post Production is a strong plus. - 3 years minimum experience. Requirements - Travel to customer and non-customer sites worldwide (+/-15%) may be required. - Flexible work time requirements may apply. Other Skills - Data science. - Maths. - Machine learning. - Appreciation for, expertise in at least one industry/artform served, such as: - Video Editing. - Music Notation. - Music Production. - Broadcasting. - Understanding of creative industries and creatives. - Ability to write code, especially in Python, but any language is also advantageous. - Understanding of recent developments in AI, emerging standards, and tooling is an advantage. - Understanding of cloud technologies and networking. - Understanding of security in an on-prem and in a cloud environment. - Experience with the transition from on-prem to the cloud, including hybrid scenarios, is a strong plus. - Understanding of Agile development and practical use cases. - Ability to drive research on new areas of expertise and build up team knowledge. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a worldwide development team. - Ability to communicate design rationale and build consensus. - Ability to prioritize and manage work critical to project timelines in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to develop new approaches to complex design problems. - Must be organized, have an eye for detail, and be able to put ideas into a tangible form. Salary Ranges - For US-based candidates: MIN 126,718.40 to MAX 190,077.60 USD/Annual. - For Canada-based candidates: MIN 109,692.80 to MAX 164,539.20 CAD/Annual. The salary range shown reflects the company's good faith full target range for this position at the time of posting.
